You limped through the halls, hearing explosions and the loud booming of gunshots. They're close. They've got to be. That's got to be them. You panted, sweat beading on your forehead as your vision became more and more blurry. I have to make it. I have to finish this, and get my closure. Then I can rest. Whether that means I actually die... well, that's another issue that I'll worry about later. You pulled out the small smg, checking the clip. 21 rounds left. You reloaded it, turning off the safety and pointing it to the ground as you ran towards the chaos. You rammed into a set of doors, entering an outer area of the base, but were still surrounded by buildings. In the center of it all, there were the mercenaires, all fighting one man. He looked to be about Heavy's size, pale skin with mechanical augments on his left arm and the right half of his head. Even with the augment in his head that ran up and into his eye, he wore goggles and a soldiers helmet. He wore tactical gear- desert camo pants with a bulletproof vest that sectioned off at the waist and covered the upper half of his thighs. There was a large piece of metal attached to his left shoulder that likely was meant to be a shield of sorts, and in his hands he held a large rifle with metallic points extending out its tip, a large ball of orange-yellow energy forming from it. He grimaced as he fired, a searing beam of light heading straight for Sniper, who stood perched on top of a ledge. Sniper ran, jumping over to a lower ledge as the concrete he had once stood on exploded. Your eyes darted from place to place as you counted the mercenaires. Engie, Medic, Soldier, Sniper... Where are Demo, Pyro, and Spy? Panic filled you as you remembered Spy. Where the fuck is Spy?!
You snapped out of it, growling as you charged forward. The faster we deal with this, the faster we get to have some answers. As long as he isn't... dead. You shook your head, heading up to be by Soldier's side. He isn't dead, You told yourself. He can't be. Not yet. You glanced towards the large man they were all fighting, seeing that he was aiming at Soldier. You grit your teeth as you jumped at Soldier, talking him down as the two of you just barely missed the beam of energy. "WHAT THE- PUMPKIN?! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU-" You got to your feet, not sparing the time to give him an answer as you pulled him up with you, firing a few shots at the intruder. You had apparently gained his attention, the man's mouth curling into a wicked grin. "So, you've all got a kid 'ere? Mighty bold of you, I must say." The man's accent was definitely British. A very intense British. "It'd be a shame if-" You and Sniper cut him off as the two of you fired at the man, his smirk quickly turning into a scowl. "Feisty one, ain'tcha?" You fired again, noticing an odd shine around his body when the bullet hit him. What kind of shielding-forcefield bullshit is this?! The mercenaries all knew you were here now, and as you moved you quickly ran into Medic who grabbed you by the shoulders harshly. "Kind, jou haff to leave! NOW!" You looked into his eyes, and something within him knew that he couldn't stop you. Not with the state you were in at the moment, at least. "I'm not leaving, and you can't stop me." You turned away and shot a few times, trying to head away from Medic as you kept an eye on the bullets as they hit the forcefield. You were low on ammo, and while you had watched the bullets ram into the shield, it showed no sign of weakening. You stopped shooting, not knowing what to do. From what you had seen, the barrier was like a sphere around his body. The only way to hurt him would likely be to take it down, likely with an EMP, or get inside the shield and hit him there. You knew now that it was likely Engie was making just that- an EMP- and you were all buying him time. You holstered your gun, trying to figure out what to do next. The man's attention was on you, as he saw you as a sort of object of advantage. You needed that attention off of you if you wanted to do anything. He was closer to you than he had been before, and with a start you realized he was coming towards you. Slowly, but just fast enough for it to be concerning. You stood your ground, all of the mercenaires firing at the man with haste. They yelled at him, and you, and you simply put your arm back behind you, your hand positioned in a relaxed way that told them that you knew what you were doing. You glanced at the two men closest to you, that being Medic and Soldier. You then glanced up at Sniper, and back to Engie. You blinked, looking at the man. He was right in front of you.
