Panic rose within you as you wandered the halls, your hopes of eventually finding a place you recognized fading. I'm so fucking lost. Fucking goddamn it. I can't believe my dumbass got lost! I should have asked for directions. I need a map for this place. What the hell- why is it so big? Haha that's what she said. This is not the time for jokes! I could get lost in this maze of hallways, and never get out, and maybe even die of dehydration. Okay, now you're just being melodramatic. Shut up. I mean- I know, but hey. After who knows how long of just roaming the base, you ended up running into Scout. At first you were glad to finally see someone, but on the other hand, you were a little nervous. He was clearly still holding a grudge since you stole his wallet, but you needed help getting directions. Taking in a deep breath in preparation, you made your way over to him and tapped him on the shoulder timidly. He jumped, and seemed to be startled by the sudden presence, but when he realized it was you, his expressions shifted back to the grumpy face that he usually had around you. He frowned and crossed his arms, turning to face you. "What the hell do you want?" You pursed your lips, trying to make sure you chose your next words wisely. "I- I..." You sighed, "I'm lost." Scout rose a brow. "That's it?" You nodded, avoiding his gaze. He sighed, annoyed at you. "Where do ya need to be?" Your stomach then grumbled, answering your question. After all that training you were hungry, especially with how you haven't had breakfast yet. He grumbled and began to walk away when he stopped, turning back to you. "You comin' or what?" You smiled, relieved, and quickly made your way over to him.

The two of you walked side by side in silence, and surprisingly enough you ended up being the one who decided to break it. "Look, Scout I-" You sighed and looked off to the side, rubbing the nape of your neck awkwardly. "I'm sorry for stealing your wallet and all. It's just- living on the streets, doing stuff like that was the only way I could make a living." Scout stared at you, his surprised expression apparent- he definitely was not expecting an apology out of you. Since he still didn't say anything, you continued your rambling, not wanting to have to walk in an awkward silence. "I used to try and beg, but that never cut it. Pick-pocketing gave me the money I needed to at least live at least somewhat comfortably. I guess doing stuff like that did make me a little greedy, though, but-" Scout began to laugh and gestured to you to stop talking, startling you and making you stop your rambling. "K-kid it's fine, it's okay. I forgive you." He was still laughing for a little while after saying that, making you feel a little embarrassed. But you were fine with it. You were just glad that Scout didn't hate you.

Within the few minutes it took to get to the kitchen, you and Scout were able to make small talk and toss around some jokes. It did end up being more of Scout talking than you, but it made you laugh, and you were happy. That's all that really mattered. That was until you saw what was for breakfast. There were fried eggs and crispy bacon, along with some perfectly toasted toast, and some spreadable butter and jam set on the table. Demo, Engie, Pyro, and Soldier were the only ones there, along with Scout, who was in front of you already filling his plate. Soldier was cleaning off his plate when he noticed you, to which he smiled and patted you on the back, giving you a thumbs up on his way out. Smiling back, you made haste and made your way over to the food, filling your platter with a bunch of eggs, bacon, and toast. You set down your plate where you had sat the day before and recognized the fact that you didn't have anything to drink. "Um, is there somewhere I could get some water?" You called out the question to the entire table, hoping someone could answer your question. You expected Engie to answer your question, and he was about to when Demo spoke first. "There are glasses up in the cabinets. Ye can get woter from the tap." He pointed towards the cabinet, which was a bit high up for you. You didn't want to bother them anymore, so you thanked Demo, to which he responded with, "No problem." and continued to eat as Engie looked at Demo with a somewhat surprised expression, before going back to his conversation with Pyro. Going up to the cabinet, you looked back, and when no one was focused on you, you hopped up onto the counter and opened the cabinet, taking a glass and hopping back down hastily. Looking back, you noticed as they all quickly looked away from you, as if not wanting you to know they were looking. Your cheeks heated up slightly, but you ignored it as you went over to the tap and filled your glass with water.
