You woke up the next morning feeling off, your mind blurry and vision fuzzy. Groaning, you got out of bed and made your way towards the kitchen for breakfast. For some reason, the air felt thick, as if something bad were going to happen. You felt sick, and you didn't want to eat, so you didn't. "I should go train," you said to yourself, making your way towards the training room. The hallways were dark, the dim lights flickering slightly. Everything was so off-putting, but at the same time, you felt so zombie-like you didn't care to notice. You arrived at the training room, and for some reason, the lights didn't work. This annoyed you immensely, but when you looked into the room you could have sworn you saw a figure. Squinting, you called out to them. "Hello?" You stalked towards them, and as you did so they didn't move a muscle, as if they were a mannequin. Their back was faced away from you, and once you were close your eyes could make out the figure better. "Scout? What are you doing here? I thought you were still on a mission with everyone else?" You reached out, going to tap his shoulder when he turned towards you, his expression panic-ridden. He jumped back, stumbling and falling as he tried to crawl away from you, while still keeping his eyes on you. "G-Get away from me, ya freak!" You were shocked, why is he looking at me like that? you asked yourself. "Scout, what's wrong?" As you tried to reach out to him to try and calm him down, you gasped as you noticed as your arm was covered in blood. Your entire body was covered in blood. And that's when you realized.
You're not awake.
You're still asleep.
And right now, you were having a nightmare.
That realization didn't keep you from being terrified of the events that were unfolding. "W-wait! Scout, please, you have to listen to me!" Scout scrambled to his feet and pulled out a pistol, pointing it at you as you froze. He was shaking, whether it was from anger or fear, you weren't sure. Gritting his teeth, Scout spoke with a sort of hatred that made your stomach drop. "You killed them. You killed my friends! And now, I'm going to kill you, like the monster you are." You tried taking a step towards him, tears filling your vision. "Scout- please, I-I didn't-" Before you could say anything else, Scout shot you in the throat, causing you to fall to your knees and collapse as you clawed at your neck, blood filling your throat and lungs. You gripped the floor coughing and trying to breathe in any way you possibly could, but you couldn't. You were suffocating. You were suffocating on your own blood. Tears fell down your cheeks, dripping down onto the ground and mixing with the pool of blood that was forming beneath you. You felt like you were dying. You were dying. Even though for the first time in a very long time you truly wanted to live, because there were people there for you to live for. "I-I'm sorry..." you choked out, barely breathing. And what you got back was, "Yea, you should be." as gunshots rang out, and the searing hot pain of bullets penetrating your flesh arose. You collapsed completely, your corpse flayed out on the ground as blood pooled around you, where you continued to suffocate as footsteps trailed away from you.

You awoke with a start, clawing at your throat in an attempt to breathe. It felt as if you had forgotten how to breathe, or as if you were suffocating. You jumped out of bed, hastily stumbling over to your bathroom as you coughed and wheezed, and those coughs and wheezes soon turned into retching as you hung your head over the toilet, choking up stomach acid. Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes, and when you felt like you were a little better you knelt down, leaning against the toilet. What- what the hell was that? You ran your hands through your hair, trying your best to calm the quick beating of your heart. As you sat against the toilet, you heard a gentle pitter-patter from the shower. You looked to the shower, and your eyes trailed up to the shower window, which was small but there to help with the ventilation of steam. The pitter-patter came from there, and through the window, you saw big, dark clouds covering the sky. Your eyes widened as you registered the sound and the scene. It's... raining? I haven't seen any rain since I went through the farmlands. This took you back, and made you look back a bit as to how far you've gone. For a little while, you lived in the same town that you were born in, and the same one that had the orphanage. But due to the fact that people were looking for you within the town, since you were a runaway child, you had to decide to leave. You left and went from town to city, to suburb, to farms, to a village which was connected to a town, and then another city, and that was the city you decided to stay in. There were a few places in between it all, but those places were the most memorable. I've come a long way, haven't I? I don't even really know where I am anymore. Wait- Miss Pauling did say something about Teufort... I'm gonna guess that's somewhere near here, but what state? You shook your head, deciding to take your mind off of the matter. You slowly got to your feet, as you continued to focus on the window as the sound of rain continued. This is probably really stupid, and I don't have a good reason to do this, but I have to go out there and feel the rain. Not allowing any backtalk from your conscience about your decision, you went back into your room and grabbed your watch, and also went to your dresser to quickly grab your jacket and sweatpants.
