You awoke with a start to the sound of an alarm blaring in your ear. Hastily sitting up, you scanned the room to try and find the source of the noise when you realized it came from your wrist. It was your watch. Apparently you had forgotten to take off your watch before you fell asleep, so the sound of beeping rang in your ears. You groaned and tapped on the screen, silencing it and seeing that it was 6:30 am, and there was 30 minutes until breakfast. So, breakfast is at 7, huh? On one hand, I'm kinda angry at Engie for making the morning alarm so much louder than the rest, but on the other hand, I kinda get it. Don't want me sleeping in and missing breakfast! Rubbing your eyes and stretching a bit, you got out of bed and made your way over to the bathroom. Still feeling half-asleep, you decided to try and splash some cold water in your face to try and wake yourself up. It worked, and the icy cold shocked you, making you feel wide awake. Wiping off the water with a towel, you began to get ready for the day. You brushed your hair and teeth, went to the bathroom, and when you went to go get dressed you remembered your laundry. Oh shit, my clothes! Oh, thank God, finally! I can put the rest of my clothes in the dryer.

Peeking out into the hall, you saw no one was around so you made a break for it, following your watch's GPS to the laundry room. Once you got there, you closed the door behind you and quickly moved your clothes into the dryer, digging out your clothes. They were still damp. Well, fuck. So it's either go another day without clothes that fit me, or wear them and freeze to death............. Yea I think I'll pass, thanks. Turning on the dryer load, you made your way back towards your room. As you were jogging through the halls, you grinned to yourself. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to wear my clothes, which actually fit me, sometime today. Once back in your room, you closed your door behind you, preparing yourself for the day ahead of you. Going to your drawer, you selected your outfit for the day. You decided to wear something simple, going with just a pair of loose jeans and a baggy t-shirt, making sure to bind your belt around your waist tightly so that your pants didn't fall down. Before you left, you brought a hair-tie with you, so that your hair didn't get in your face while you were training with Spy. Pulling on your socks and shoes, you left your room with 5 minutes to spare. You decided to wait in the rec room until breakfast was actually ready, sitting down on a couch next to Scout. Slumping into the couch, Scout looked over at your tired appearance and smirked. "Tired?" You looked at him with a jokingly dead look in your eyes, making him laugh. "Good to see that you're all healed up after yesterday." You chuckled softly. "Yeah... not gonna lie I don't remember how I got half of those cuts and bruises." There was a glimpse of concern in his eyes before he shrugged and sat back into the couch, crossing his arms. "Weird, but it was probably your adrenaline keeping ya in the moment." You nodded, agreeing with him. As you guys talked and joked, something seemed off with his demeanor and body language. He looked nervous, or uneasy. You wanted to ask him what was wrong, but before you got the chance to breakfast was announced.

You and the rest of the mercenaries filed into the kitchen, lining up for the breakfast buffet that laid out on the stove and counters. Apparently Engie had made breakfast, and he did so with great success. He had cooked up some waffles, eggs, and bacon, which all looked as if they were made by a professional chef. You smiled, giddy and excited to try the waffles the most. Once it was your turn in line, you piled two waffles, some scrambled eggs, and multiple slices of bacon onto your plate. Sitting down at the table, you took notice of the fact that there was syrup and butter in the center for the waffles. The butter was fairly close to you, so you were able to easily grab some and spread it on your waffles. But the syrup was across the table, so you had to muster up the courage to ask Soldier, who was closest to it, to give it over. "Uh, Soldier? Could you please pass the syrup?" Soldier nodded and grunted, before shoving it over to you. That was easier than I expected. What exactly we're you expecting? I dunno, a test? A challenge maybe? You poured the syrup onto your waffles, and dug in, savoring every bite. You looked over to Engie, giving him a thumbs up as you swallowed and smiled. "Thanks for breakfast Engie!" He looked startled for a moment, but then smiled softly. "'Course, glad ya like it." While he sounded glad that you enjoyed the food, he seemed slightly uncomfortable as well. You noticed that everyone was pretty quiet, not talking as much as they had the previous meals. What's up with everyone? Why do they all look so... on edge? Did something happen? You were too scared to ask, so you continued to eat until you were full, and then cleaned off your plate and left for the rec room, waiting for Spy to come and get you for training. You sat on the couch and rested your eyes, when you heard commotion coming from the kitchen. There was a lot of chatter, and they sounded like they were debating something. You couldn't quite make out what they were saying, but you could have sworn you heard your name. Are they talking about me? Behind my back? Okay, ouch, but why? A few more minutes passed before a few of the mercenaries came out of the kitchen, one of those mercenaries being Spy. He looked over at you with a colder gaze than usual. "Are 'ou ready?" You nodded. "Yea, can we go back to my room for my knife real quick though?" He rolled his eyes and scoffed. "If 'ou must." You shuffled back to your room, Spy following you from behind. You grabbed your knife from your room, and made sure to be quick while doing so, not wanting Spy's mood to become any more foul than it already seemed to be. Without saying anything, Spy began to make his way towards the training room, expecting you to follow him, which you did.
