monokuma had gathered the class to the gymnasium. nobody really wanted to go- nothing he could be gathering them for could be anything good, right? however, everybody went- they were all too scared of being killed by the exisals to do anything else. after about ten minutes, everyone had convened there. everyone was talking in hushed voices, wondering what monokuma needed them here for that he couldn't do over an announcement. about a minute later, monokuma popped up behind the podium on the stage- as he had when they'd all first arrived there.
" look at all of you! gathered in the gym, wondering 'what's going on? why are we here?'. oh, it's just like old times! it feels like it was only yesterday that we all met, " the bear began. " but enough about that! i bet you're all dying to know what's going on here! well, if you insist - welcome to your newest motive! " with that, the doors to the gymnasium slammed shut. " the problem is, i haven't prepared my speech to explain the motive quite yet , so i'm going to give myself a little more time to prepare! and don't worry- what's about to happen is all part of the motive! also, if you panic, it'll get to you faster. well, seeya~! " and as soon as he'd arrive, he seemed to disappear again. everyone started to talk again- what was he talking about? what was about to happen?
everyone's conversations were interrupted by a hissing noise coming from above. (y/c) looked up to see a nearly transparent white gas leaking out of the vents above them. despite monokuma's warnings, panic ensued. a few students ran to the door, kicking and pushing and making attempts to pull it open, all of which were useless. a few covered their nose and mouth to try and avoid breathing in the gas- as it was spreading quick. (y/c) could see that kaede was following suit- covering her lower face with her vest and looking around for any other potential route of escape. but however hard the students worked to escape or avoid the gas, within sixty seconds, a few students had collapsed on the ground. involuntarily breathing in the chemical, (y/c) began to feel lightheaded and dizzy. they fell to their knees, their vision going dark.
the next thing (y/c) knew, there was somebody above them, waving their hand in their face. " (y/c) , wake up! " the voice pleaded. it was a girl's voice. they opened their eyes to see kaede kneeling above them- but something had changed from the last time they'd seen her. she had a thick gray bracelet around her wrist. before they could ask her any questions, or she could ask them any, a familiar voice piped up from the front of the room. " is that everybody, then? great! " the bear continued, not waiting for confirmation. " i've got the explanation ready, let's begin! "
" all of you have been fitted with a wristband, which is the primary part of this motive! the black part on your inner wrist is a small screen, and it will tell you what your 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is! now, forbidden actions are like our other rules here at the ultimate academy- there are severe consequences for completing these forbidden actions! if you do happen to complete your individual action, the wristband will inject a fast-acting poison into your wrist, killing you within seconds! but before you go all 'rebel' on me, the same thing will occur if you make any attempt to remove the wristband! you can tell each other your actions as much as you want, but be careful who you share that information with- someone untrustworthy might just use that information to kill you! now- " the doors opened again. " have fun out there! and remember, forgetting your forbidden action for even a moment can be deadly! bye-bye! " and once again, he was gone before anybody could say anything in response.
the room fell silent for a moment. this was a lot to take in. one by one, everybody began to check their wrists, learning their forbidden actions. as (y/c) was right next to kaede, they heard her sigh. suddenly, about three students bolted from the room- likely too scared that they'd easily die due to the wristband if they stayed out in the open. that sudden commotion seemed to startle everyone else, and before anybody could convince the group to calm down, their nerves overpowered them, and everyone began to scatter, whether to their own dorms or to another place. most everybody had left, and (y/c) decided that it wouldn't be a good idea to stay there while everybody else was gone. they quickly headed for the door, but a voice from behind them stopped them in their tracks.
" wait! " it called. (y/c) stopped, turning around. it was kaede. " can ... can i go with you ? "

no oneliners this chapter, so i'll take this space to set up a few ground rules!
1. think of a forbidden action for your character before you comment, butdon't say what it is! we'll be unaware of the other's forbidden actions unless our characters tell each other.
2. if one character triggers the others' wristband, or kills them in some other way, they'll die. once they're dead, we can choose to either rewind to before they made that choice or end the roleplay there.
3. if your character intends to kill kaede intentionally (not accidentally triggering her forbidden action), please let me know first. i can't imagine kaede would kill somebody close to her intentionally, but i'll let you know if i'm thinking about it as well!
