word had been spreading around the school fast about a party happening on friday evening, at one of the seniors' houses. as the word spread, it seemed like almost the entirety of the junior and senior classes said that they were planning on attending. even though hope's peak had small classes, everyone was still saying that it was going to be amazing.
(y/c) had wanted to go, and had asked kaede to go with them. they weren't comfortable being at a huge party by themselves, and they knew kaede was a responsible person. she'd enthusiastically agreed, even though she usually wasn't much of a party person.
friday evening came before (y/c) knew it, and kaede had picked them up at their house and driven to the location. they were going to try their best to stick together, no matter what.
a few hours in, (y/c) and kaede were having a lot of fun. the pianist had gone off to refill her drink a few minutes ago, and was now finding their way back to them. however, as she was returning, (y/c) noticed that something was odd. kaede seemed a bit dizzy and looked unsteady as she was walking- she occasionally needed to take a moment to regain her balance. glancing between kaede and where she'd come from, (y/c) finally noticed the problem.
she must not have realized that the punch she kept going to get refills of was alcoholic. (y/c) had heard it in passing earlier, but hadn't thought much about it. weren't you just supposed to assume things like that at a house party like this? but kaede, who'd never been to a party like this, had no clue.
" hey , hey , (y/c) ~! " she exclaimed, finally making it to them. " have you had any of this yet ? it's really , really good ! " she encouraged, pushing their refilled cup towards (y/c).
