(y/c) and kaede had been living together for a few months, in their own apartment. kaede was their girlfriend, and they spent as much time with each other as they could, despite both of their extremely busy schedules.
one night, (y/c) was sitting up in bed, with a computer illuminating their face- trying to get some work done. they had a project with a deadline coming up soon, and they wanted to work on it. kaede wasn't home yet, as she'd had a big concert the previous night.
when it was almost midnight, the door to the apartment opened, and a few moments later, the blonde entered their shared room. she looked exhausted. they greeted her, asking how it had gone.
" good , " she replied simply, going into the bathroom to change and take her makeup off. (y/c) went back to work, hoping that everything really was okay.
about ten minutes later, they felt the bed shift a bit underneath them- kaede had climbed into bed as well. however, instead of trying to go right to sleep, she curled up next to them, placing her head on their shoulder. she let out a quiet, sleepy hum.
