when (y/c) woke up that morning, they heard a commotion from outside of their dorm. that had never really happened before— was something wrong? with more urgency than usual, they got dressed and ready for the day, before leaving their room.
almost all sixteen students were there, in the center of the dorm complex. everyone sounded panicky, but (y/c) wasn't quite sure what to do or who to ask what was going on— until they saw kaede, pacing back and forth. they decided to approach her, asking what was wrong. she jumped a bit at the sudden voice, but quickly calmed down as she saw who it was. " about four of us woke up with these on , " kaede explained, holding up her wrist for (y/c) to see. it was a dark gray, metal bracelet that had a bright red monokuma design on it. " we don't know what they are , or what they do , but it can't be good . maybe we could pull them off , but they seem really solid , and so far , everybody's been too afraid to touch them ... " she mused, cautiously taking hold of the bracelet.
" i wouldn't do that if i were you ~ ! " a familiar voice sounded over the loudspeaker, making kaede jump. the monitors around the room fizzed to life, and the owner of the voice appeared. " i can't understand why you'd want to take those off , especially when i worked so hard on them , and when they're so useful ! you should appreciate them more ! " monokuma insisted. " hmm , but maybe you might like them better if you knew what they did ~ !
those bracelets , which i've generously gifted to four of you , are the basis of our next *motive* ! each of those is filled with a super - strong drug , that gives its victims the uncontrollable urge to spill their deepest , darkest secret ! it's basically a refined truth serum ~ ! and before those of you out there tell me that this is unrealistic , this is way less crazy than the despair disease , so don't even get me started ! " ...something about the way he was talking made it sound like he wasn't even talking to any of the students, especially since whatever the 'despair disease' was was a foreign concept to everyone here. " but don't worry ! your bracelet will inject it into your wrist in only a few small amounts , a few times a day , so the effects will happen gradually ! three times is what you *should* get , but if you try to take the bracelet off , it'll give you another dose , and the truth will just come out quicker ! don't want anyone to know your awful secrets ? better start planning , then , because the only way to get these bracelets off is to kill ~ ! and if nobody decides that that's a good enough reason to off somebody else , then we'll start handing out more bracelets after three days ! anyhow , see you all later ! and to those lucky four , good luck keeping your mouths shut ! " and, with that, the screen shut off.
