the newest motive was... interesting to say the least. monokuma had ordered the monokubs to hand out a pair of glasses to every student- the glasses had their owners' last names engraved onto the sides. monokuma had said that the glasses 'allowed you to see your classmates' true selves'. nobody was quite sure what that meant.
he'd also explained that this motive would be gradual. one pair of glasses would start to work, and then another, and then another. so nobody saw anything different.
some students refused to wear their glasses, claiming that, by doing this, they'd be able to avoid the temptation of the motive. some kept theirs on because they were curious- kaede kept hers on for a different reason.
" i promise i'd never kill anyone here , " she'd say to anyone who asked why she was wearing them. " but we need to know what we're up against , and how to resist it . someone needs to understand what's going on , and i'm willing to find out . "
nobody had said anything about seeing anything different by the end of that day, so most people went to sleep wondering if this motive was even real. however, the next day, kaede seemed very fidgety and unlike herself, and (y/c) noticed. she often adjusted her glasses, putting them up on her head or taking them off her face a moment after she first started talking to people. (y/c) decided they'd confront her about it later.
but their plans changed when they ended up passing by the pianist in the hallway, greeting them as they went by. however, kaede froze, her eyes wide as she stared at (y/c).
