scenario one

everyone had locked in their answers. the answer was tsumugi, it had to have been! all of the evidence pointed to her. the only other vote had been for keebo, and it was clear who that vote had been cast by. the spinning lottery machine at the front of the trial room started up, but when it landed on tsumugi, it seemed to glitch out, powering down.

" give yourselves a hand , folks ! " monokuma cheered excitedly. " you've made danganronpa history ! for the first time in the history of the series , the mastermind verdict is - " a small sizzling noise sounded from the center of the trial, but before any of the students could say or do anything about it, whatever was making that sound exploded. it was nothing harmful, (y/c) realized after a moment, just a smoke bomb. however, everyone started coughing, trying their best to clear the smoke away from their faces.

" absolutely wrong ! " the voice wasn't monokuma's, but another familiar one. one that most of the students thought that they'd never hear again.

after the smoke cleared, everyone looked around to see what had happened- but (y/c)'s eyes very quickly landed on what had changed.

it was kaede akamatsu, sitting sideways on monokuma's throne. her outfit had been altered to more resemble the animatronic bear, and she was beaming. " hey , guys ! i missed you so much ! long time no see , huh ? "

scenario two

(y/c) had had their suspicions for a few days now, but by now, she was absolutely sure of something- something was absolutely suspicious about kaede.

she would occasionally disappear for short periods of time where nobody could find her, and sometimes, they had been able to catch her saying that she was going one place, and then quickly running off somewhere else- not to mention that it seemed like nobody could find her when they needed her.

so when she excused herself, claiming that she was going to go practice piano, (y/c) followed her. normally, they'd feel bad about following somebody, but in a killing game, who knows what anybody could be planning in secret? sure enough, the pianist had gone to the girls' bathroom instead of to her own lab. feeling guilty about following her into the bathroom as well, (y/c) tried to think of an excuse- and rationalized it by remembering that there were no cameras in the bathroom- this could be the perfect place for planning a murder. gathering their courage, they walked in, calling out for kaede.

there wasn't a reply, but a mechanical noise echoed out from behind the door of the supply closet. hesitantly, they went to check it out. unfortunately, nothing interesting was behind the door, just a few knocked-over mops, brooms, and supplies. (y/c) sighed, leaning down to pick something up, using the wall to support themselves.

the wall started to rumble, and (y/c) quickly stood back up- the wall had opened up to reveal a secret passageway. curious, they walked in, following the path until they reached a door. taking a deep breath, they opened the door just a crack, to see what was going on.

they couldn't see much of what was in the room, but the sound of classical music floated out, and there was a girl's voice muttering to herself.
