As I'm sure you're all aware, life has been kiiiiinda the worst lately. Just know that I stand with you all and I have paid my respects to those who need it. With that being said, I want everyone to know that wherever you stand, please remember to approach people with kind intentions and be as respectful as possible. In my announcement yesterday I came on as very harsh, but this is something i feel very strongly about. I want you all to be safe if you're protesting and remain peaceful, the law enforcement rn is kinda wack so also understand that SOME of what they do is protocol. Legally, they have to carry some weapons and as bad as that sounds, they just have to. Today, I saw a child of color get maced after being taken from her parents, who were not even within 15 feet of the cops and were doing no damage. I cant get that image out of my mind, it was truly awful and has changed how i view the police where im from. And one of my best friends who grew up conservative republican and has different views than me agrees that white supremacy is real and white privelege is real. If you disagree with me, please let me know in a respectful way, and I will reply respectfully too. Arguing about this is so childish and I'd hate to be put in a position where I have to do that.
In the mean time, I will be off most social medias due to their toxicity and political tension (sorry if u follow my instagram twitter or tiktok) and i reccommend you do the same, because people are often misinformed and very rude about it. If you have gone to a protest like I have, I hope you were save because covid-19 is still very real and getting worse. If you havent, please promote black lives matter as much as you can and respectfully spread awareness. And remember, a lot of the media you see is a forced perspective so try to look at it from both sides. Police who are just trying to do their job are NOT the same as police who put their racial views before their work. Unless you see a cop do something you know isn't right, leave them be please.
This is a matter I am very passionate about, and I'm sorry that my usual light-hearted content has been put aside because of this. I just don't think it's as important as literal history is happening rn lmao
anyways, I love you all so much, please take it easy for the next few days because ooh boy it's going to be wild.
