After a while, I'm transported from the bed to a wheelchair and then into a plane. I'm flown upstate and see the Avengers new facility for the first time. "Woah, this place is crazy!" I look out the window of the plane.
Once we are inside Dad gives me a small tour of the place. "But, that's only the places you will need to know about. The rest you can find when you explore on your own." Then we head into my room. Which is bigger than the one in my apartment, but about the same size as the one in the tower.
"This is amazing, I'll defiantly enjoy it here over the summer." Dad looks at me funny.
"Why only over the summer, you can stay here with the rest of the Avengers." I freeze, he's implying that I'm an Avenger now. Which, just seems unreal.
"No, I have to finish school."
"You can go back to homeschooling, you already know everything anyway." I shake my head, "No, I have friends, and I want to go to homecoming and prom. I don't want to miss out on all the normal things teenagers do." He sighs and pulls out a desk chair.
"Okay, I get it. But I really don't like being this far away from you."
"I understand, but I'm sure you'll still be in the city often. If anything actually happens I have Spider-Dude to help me. That is assuming you are giving him his suit back. Because he really deserves it."
Dad's phone rings, "Yeah, you got the kid? Okay, he doesn't know right? Good."
"Wait, are you bringing Peter here?"
"I'm offering him a place here too. So, no, he'll be just as far away as I am."
I slump my head, I almost want to stay now. I wonder how Pete is going to explain being a high school drop out to May.
"Well, I'll let you adjust, there are elevators and ramps everywhere, so you shouldn't have trouble getting around." He leaves and I wave.
I decide to explore more of the facility. I find a few of the Avengers and catch up with them. I'm the closest to Natasha. Who is like a big sister to me. But when she needs to, she acts like a mom.
"I can't believe that kid would let you do this to yourself." She hugs me from my wheelchair but she remembers the broken ribs and pulls away.
"It was my decision, Nat. Please don't make him feel worse than he probably already does." I fill her in the story of how I helped Spider-Man. Looking back at it though, I didn't do much to help. If I did end up getting there in time, I probably just would have been in his way.
"Well, it was great catching up. I'm going to head out now." After that, I just go back to my room.
"Mai, turn off the lights, I need a nap." Getting into bed wasn't the challenge, it was getting comfortable. No matter what my ribs ached and my muscles were sore. Though I do eventually drift off.
"Morgan, Peter Parker is outside your door." I wake up and look around. Why doesn't he just come in? Then I see a shadow pacing outside. 'That's why.'
"Peter, I'd let you in but I don't feel like dealing with the chair at the moment." I don't say it very loud since I know his heightened senses can hear me.
The door clicks and he comes in nervously. "Hey, sorry for not coming to help. Turns out you shouldn't push the limits of technology thirty feet in the air."
He says nothing, he just wraps his arms around me and squeezes with all his strength. "Ow! Pete! Peter! Ow! Superstrength and broken ribs don't mix!" He let's go put grabs my shoulders.
"Oh, God! Morgan, I am so sorry! Wait, how did you break your ribs! It was because of me wasn't it?" I give him a warm smile, hoping to calm him down. "No, why does everyone keep blaming you?"
