We're about to go through with Peter's plan, but before that, I anchor myself by planting my wings into the walls. I sure as hell am not getting sucked into space. Spidey holds on to the wall, I told him that's barely going to help him. He says he needs to be able to jump in and save our guy.
We give Dad the signal, and he lands behind the creature currently controlling the needles.
"...Could end your friend's life in an instant."
I get more and more nervous as I think about everything that could go wrong.
"I gotta tell you, he's not really my friend. Saving his life is more of a professional courtesy."
The alien slowly approaches Iron Man, mystically caring chunks of metal behind him. "You've saved nothing. Your powers are inconsequential compared to mine." Someone likes their twenty-dollar words.
"Yeah, but the kid's seen more movies." Then a small missile blasts from his shoulder and pierces through the only barrier keeping us from the extreme conditions of space.
Things get pulled into the void along with the gray guy. That includes Magic Hands. The cloak wraps around his arm in an attempt to save it's owner, but it doesn't work. He slips out but Spidey catches him with a web.
He grabs a very brittle looking part of the ship. It snaps and I yell, "Karen! Robot legs!" Just in time, the legs spring out and catch the two.
"Yes! Wait what are those?" Peter seems to get the hang of the extra limbs and jumps to bring them both back into the atmosphere of the ship.
Dad repairs the hole and the guys are both safe. I relaxed and fall onto the floor. Getting back up, I walk over towards Spidey. "Hey, we haven't officially met." He offers his hand but the cloak just ignores it, finding his way back onto wizard guy. "Cool." He sounds defeated.
I brush off some debris on Peter then swiftly hug him. "We've gotta turn this ship around." Wizard guy -I really need to learn his name- says. I turn towards them and Peter grabs my hand.
"Yeah, Now he wants to run. Great plan." Here we go.
"No, I want to protect the stone." 'What stone?' I look over to Peter who seems to be thinking the same thing.Dad walks up to the "windshield" of the ship.
"And I want you to thank me now. Go ahead, I'm listening." My father demands.
"For what? Nearly blasting me into space?"
"Who just saved your magical ass? Me.""And Peter," I interject. They both ignore me.
"I seriously don't know how you fit your head into that helmet."
"Admit it. You should have ducked out when I told you. I tried to bench you. You refused."
"Unlike everyone else in your life, I don't work for you.
"And due to that fact, we're in a flying doughnut billions of miles away from Earth with no backup."Looks like Dad found someone with an ego just as big as his. Serves him right.
Peter and I raise our hands, "We're back up!" We say together.
"No, you two are stowaways." He waves his finger between himself and the wizard. "The adults are talking."I shake my head and rub my forehead. "I'm sorry, I'm confused as to the relationships here. Wh- What are they? Your wards?" I blink a few times and look around making sure he is talking about us.
"No, I'm his daughter. Morgan Stark. You may know me as the Princess of New York." He looks at me confused. "Yeah, I know how stupid it sounds. I wasn't happy about it either."
Peter waves with his free hand. "I'm Peter, by the way"
"Dr. Strange." Peter looks uncertain, "Oh, we're using our made-up names. Um... I'm Spider-Man, then." I chuckle and Peter asks me what's funny. I just shake my head.
"Well, I'm glad that's done. I've been calling you 'Mr. Wizard' in my head, and it's quickly losing its charm." Now it's Peter's turn to chuckle at me.
Tony brings the conversation back on track. "This ship is self-correcting its course. Things on autopilot."
Dr. Strange stalks closer to my father. "Can we control it? Fly us home?" After he doesn't respond, Strange sounds irritated. "Stark?" My Dad snaps out of whatever thought he was having.
"Yeah?"
"Can you get us home?"
"Yeah, I heard you. I'm thinking. I'm not so sure we should."
"Under no circumstance can we bring the Time Stone to Thanos. I don't think you quite understand what's at stake here."Dad walks up to Strange, getting close to his face while speaking, "What? No. It's you who doesn't understand that Thanos has been inside my head for six years. Since he sent an army to New York and now he's back."
"Wait, that's who we're up against?" I cut in, but no one cares to elaborate.
"And I don't know what to do. So I'm not so sure if it's a better plan to fight him on our turf or his, but you saw what they did, what they can do. At least on his turf, he's not expecting it. So I say, we take the fight to him." He closes his ramble off with a simple, "Doctor. Do you concur?"
Dr. Strange seems to understand where my father is coming from. "Alright, Stark. We go to him. But you have to understand if it comes to saving you or those kids, or the Time Stone. I will not hesitate to let any of you die. I can't, the universe depends on it."
Chills run down my spine as I realize just exactly what I've gotten myself into. "Nice. Good, moral compass. We're straight." Tony pats Strange in the arm and walks up to us.
He taps each of our shoulders with the edge of his hand as if formally knighting us.
"Alright, kids. You're Avengers now."
