Chapter 16: Motion

"Sasuke, do you trust me?"

"Of course nii-san! I trust you with my life."

Ideally, he was a perfect older brother who excels in everything, both academics and physical training. He was recognised as the genius of the Uchiha. At a young age he was a jack of all trades, able to do everything without so much of an effort. Everyone believed that he will bring the organization to great heights once he ascended and becomes the Boss.

And there was Sasuke, a boy, who as far as everyone in the Uchiha household is concern, was just someone who hides behind his older brother's shadow and talent.

"I killed our parents," he said it so plainly like it didn't faze him at all.

Sasuke on the other hand, slowly processed his words.

"I became the ideal older brother like you always admired me to be. But I guess it's about time to drop the act."

"Why?"

Sasuke wasn't sure what it was he was asking. Was it why he killed their parents? Or was it why he pretended to be good all this time?

Or maybe it was why he hasn't killed him yet?

Somewhere down the line, Sasuke knew he was asking those questions all at the same time.

"You were just a naïve boy. Now I don't think if you're even worth killing, foolish younger brother."

When Sasuke came to reality, he realized how he has a death grip on the glass of liquor. The four of them were still inside the study room. He had just accepted the Nara's help a while ago and now silence befall them like a heavy curtain.

"So," Shikamaru started. "How exactly are we going to do that?"

Sasuke took a sip from the glass, the ice already melting as the liquor was not as strong because of the water as it passed down his throat.

"I will kill him—"

"Yeah, we get it Sasuke. But how exactly?" Naruto was the one who butted in this time.

"I said I'll kill him. Your help comes right after Itachi is dead."

Sakura glanced to the side, where Sasuke was sitting. She couldn't help but notice how Sasuke said those words like he's going to kill a stranger and not his brother. He did tell her his brother killed their parents. But for what reasons? Did their parents not favour his older brother that resulted in him killing them? Sakura doesn't really know, but for Sasuke to display such words laced with poison made Sakura think twice of rebutting him.

"Itachi has a lot of allies. More than half of the members in our organization sided with him."

"So basically, you wanted us to clean up your mess by dealing with the smaller fishes in the pond while you deal with the Boss, is that it?" Shikamaru asked, lazily sprawling his arm on the couch as he leaned in.

"Exactly," Sasuke replied shortly and looked at Shikamaru with a deadpan expression, clearly not amused with his analogy but that's exactly Sasuke's plan

"You mean just us? Like the three of us?" Naruto asked, pointing at himself, Sasuke and Shikamaru.

Sakura sent him a glare as Naruto flat-out excluded her. Sensing the death glare, Naruto visibly gulped. "I mean, the four of us?"
