The Uchihas had been a host of the New Year's Eve for a few times before when Sasuke was a boy. It was always a fancy evening of men discussing about their wealth and women talking about the latest gossip as they all welcome another year. The event, held at 31st of December to commemorate the end of another year is a petty excuse of the elders to widen their connections by trying to sweet talk their way in the group of the young Yakuza who, like animals, can be compared to baby chicks and those elders are well-fed roosters in the flock.

But Sasuke knew better than to be swayed by those old men whose days are numbered down so thinly. Frankly, he doesn't see why he was chosen to host the event this year.

"Last year, your brother was chosen to host," Aoda said as Sasuke looked up at him. Now that Aoda mentioned it, Sasuke did remember.

"Didn't he refuse?"

"Yes. The elders cannot do much about it since your brother was, then, a member of that organization."

If Sasuke remembered correctly, the organization could care less about going to such events but on rare occasions, when one of the members used to be closely tied with the elders, they do get chosen to host. It's been years since the Uchiha group last hosted the event, not to mention Sasuke's brother took them down and if he does remembered correctly, it was Shikamaru's father who was chosen at the last minute to host the event.

Sasuke sighed heavily as he downed the content in his mug, the coffee had gone cold and Sasuke almost grimace.

"Sasuke-sama, you can leave the preparations to me."

In times like this, Sasuke was reminded yet again how grateful he is that Aoda is here. He nodded before he stood up and Aoda bowed his head, watching as his young master made his way up the stairs. All Aoda has to do is to find a place where the event will be held, a place that isn't too extravagant yet not too average. Something that will satisfy the elders and something like this is an easy task for him. What matters most is that his young master will never worry a single bit about it.

When Sasuke entered their room, he saw Sakura sitting in front of the vanity mirror, her palms pressed on her cheeks and Sasuke was sure she's questioning herself again whether she's gained weight or something. The small pout on her lips made it plumper and Sasuke couldn't help but find it utterly cute, not to mention the frown grazing her forehead and she seem too preoccupied to even noticed Sasuke sneaking behind her.

"Keep frowning like that and you'll have permanent marks on your forehead," Sasuke said, surprising Sakura as she span around and faced him.

"What?" She asked, her frown deepens and Sasuke lifted his hand and poke her forehead as her frown slowly ceased.

"Let's go out for a walk in the garden," Sasuke said, gesturing for Sakura to stand up but instead she puffed her cheek and averted her eyes.

"I thought you said your feet cramp a lot. You should take a walk, it's still early."

"My feet don't cramp," she muttered. "And I'd rather be on the bed with you than walk outside, the cherry blossom trees have shed all their petals. I don't wanna look at bare cherry blossoms, it makes me sad."

"What did you say?" Sasuke asked and Sakura turned her eyes to him as she slightly frown.

"That bare cherry blossom trees make me sad?"
