Chapter 41: Strawberry and Wine

Approximately 16 kilometers from Sumida Ward, taking up to little less than twenty minute drive, Sasuke and Sakura arrived at Shinagawa ten minutes before the start of the event. Sparing those couple of minutes to drop at the sand sibling estate in Shinagawa ward, Sasuke noticed that everyone is already there.

Everyone except for one.

"Where the hell is Naruto?" Sasuke asked when he scanned the people in the living room.

"He said he's going to be a little late because he had to convince Hinata's father to take her to the event," Shikamari answered because Naruto actually asked him to tell Sasuke that. The young Nara knew Sasuke would be more annoyed had Naruto tell him that.

Sasuke sighed and shook his head. "You all know what to do."

Sasuke looked at everyone before they settled on the two certain young men he met at Kabukicho, Kiba and Shino who looks quite decent with their tuxedos unlike the last time Sasuke saw them in that hostclub.

"We'll be there to assess 'em right, Boss?" Kiba asked, brushing imaginary dust off his expensive suit.

"Right. So don't do anything foolish."

After that, everyone got on their own vehicles. The sand siblings, Temari and Gaara. The two gang leaders Kiba and Shino. Shikamaru with Sai and Ino that Sakura had just noticed. Sakura waved her hand at her best friend but frowned when Ino winked at her before mouthing a 'we'll talk later' as she stepped inside the car.

The drive towards Tokyo Bay was fast, since the traffic is moving smoothly. Sasuke and Sakura sat at the back while Aoda drove.

"Sakura," Sasuke called as Sakura turned towards him. "You might seriously get irritated by what I'm about to say."

"What is it?"

"When we arrived, stay by my side and don't go wandering off with you friend. I can't afford to let you walk aimlessly in the swarm of men, those wolves in sheeps' wool."

Sakura couldn't contain her chuckle as she put her hand on her lips and Sasuke looked at her. He's being serious here and Sakura had started to laugh.

"Don't worry Sasuke-kun, I'll stick by your side throughout the whole night."

Yeah, that's what Sakura said approximately one hour ago.

After getting on the cruise, the atmosphere instantly changed and Sakura was almost overwhelmed by everything. From the fancy decor and high class individuals. Most of the people Sakura had only seen in magazines and newspapers but here she was talking face to face with them.

The first half an hour went smoothly as they greeted guests. Even the ones that Sakura thought were ordinary rich people were actually part of a Yakuza organization. But by then Sakura didn't seem surprise at all.

She just went with the flow.

Quite literally, went with the flow of people as guests started to crowd the deck and Sakura was swept by a group of women who look like high paid models. They were gossiping about the latest trends and fashion after introducing themselves as wives of Yakuza leaders and Sakura couldn't relate one bit about what they were saying. It was actually a miracle she managed to slipped away from them and now, Sakura stood alone.
