Sasuke has heard about mood swings and how pregnant women would constantly have them. What he didn't know was that he would experience it firsthand as early as when they went to the Obstetrician that morning. Sasuke didn't foresee what he's about to experience starting from then.
Sakura remembered throwing up after taking a bite of that tomato salad, and then she fell asleep. That very morning, she woke up feeling queasy and before she knew it she was in the bathroom throwing up, though her stomach had already been emptied the night before, the queasy feeling was still there.
Apparently Sasuke had already arranged an appointment with an Obstetrician and as Sakura sat on the chair in front of a desk, it's become clearer to her. Everything was starting to make sense now and she felt somewhat dumb for not figuring it out right away. But she really couldn't help herself, she's been thinking about lot of things lately and it completely didn't cross her mind.
"Here's the result of the test," the Doctor said, adjusting her spectacles as she handed a paper. "It turned out you're three weeks along. Congratulations,"
The Doctor was smiling and then her eyes landed on Sasuke who nodded at her. Of course it didn't go unnoticed as Sakura cleared her throat a bit louder to get the Doctor's attention back to her.
"Thank you," she said. "Is there anything else? Cause if not, my husband and I are leaving."
Sakura stood up but then she felt a hand around her wrist, stopping her from taking a step farther as she looked at Sasuke.
"What? We're leaving," she said, trying to retrieve her hand back but Sasuke was still holding it.
"No, we're not," Sasuke said, gesturing for Sakura to sit back on the chair but Sakura remained standing, putting her free hand on her hips.
"If you want to stay here longer, then stay. I'm leaving."
Suddenly they heard the Doctor stiffled a laugh as she adjusted her glasses and cleared her throat. "Sorry," she muttered, shaking her head as she started to write on a paper.
Watching the two was amusing to say the least and the Doctor couldn't help but chuckle. "Here are the prescribed medicines for nausea and morning sickness."
She handed the paper and Sasuke took it this time as Sakura watched the way she smiled at Sasuke and her annoyance flared up as Sasuke nodded before standing up, putting his hand on her back as they walked out of the hospital and towards the parking lot.
Sakura didn't even know why she felt so annoyed when she should be happy. But she couldn't shake off the frustration of seeing that Doctor looking at Sasuke and how he looked at her in return. Or maybe it was just her overthinking things again. Of course Sakura's silence didn't go unnoticed as Sasuke started to drive back to Sumida. The silence engulfing them was so thick Sasuke thought of opening the car window but he instead decided to speak.
"What's wrong?" He asked and he averted his eyes for a second to look at Sakura was looking outside, her hands cross over her chest and her expression was hard to decipher as Sasuke looked back at the road ahead.
"Nothing," Sakura's answer was short and plain and it wouldn't take a genius not to know that there is something wrong.
"Do you want to eat anything? Are you hungry?" It was the only thing he could think of that wouldn't piss her off further but even that question made Sakura frown.
