When Sakura was left in the car, just as she watched Sasuke turn a corner towards a back alley, someone suddenly opened the door and Sakura was yanked outside forcefully. Her initial instinct was to fight and she actually did land a clean hit on the attacker's jaw before Sakura felt a cloth on her mouth. The moment she closed her eyes and her body lost its strength Sakura succumb to oblivion.
She woke up in an unfamiliar place and was pulled outside, in what looks like a traditional garden. In the middle was a table and sitting there was an old woman wearing a kimono. She seem stern and intimidating that Sakura visibly gulped when the woman looked at her as she sipped a tea.
The men that pulled Sakura towards the table made her sit in front of the woman.
Sakura felt like this scene came straight out of a television drama as the old woman pulled an envelope and slid it on the glass table. Sakura stared at it and she knew exactly what's inside without even looking at it.
"So you're the woman my grandson chose to marry," she said, looking at Sakura, her gaze was intense that Sakura couldn't help but feel conscious under her stare.
"That's ten million yen in cash. I can give you more if you break the engagement with Sasuke."
Sakura could practically hear a dramatic soundtrack around her when she heard that. The statement may have been a shock but Sakura couldn't help but chuckle humorlessly.
"What?" She asked, looking around before her gaze settled on the old woman. Sakura always respect the elders but this old woman was overstepping boundaries and she practically just tear Sakura's dignity as Sasuke's fiancee.
"Honestly, I don't really get how men in that family pick their women based off their personal feelings. Can't they just be rational for once? Sasuke's father should have married my eldest daughter but she settled for less when he decided to marry my youngest."
Sakura will not be having it. Absolutely not, so it was no surprise when Sakura slammed her hands on the table, slightly spilling the tea as the table shook from the force.
"How dare you? Excuse my foul language. But how the dare you even say that? Sasuke may be your grandson but do you have any idea what he went through? And you want me to just accept your filthy money and leave him?"
Sakura couldn't stop herself as she raise her voice and she knew it was disrespectful doing so to elders. But Sakura doesn't feel bad at all.
"Just so you know, my love for your grandson cannot be bought by any amount of money. You may use all your riches but I'm not leaving Sasuke."
Sakura stopped for a second as she stare at the old woman who sat there in silence.
"And I'm sorry for disrespecting you. I'm going back home," Sakura said lowly.
She was about to turn around and leave when Sakura heard the woman speak.
"Dignity. Class. Intellect. Beauty."
Sakura stopped and looked at the old woman, a frown slowly grazing Sakura's forehead as she comprehended what she just said.
"Those were the characteristics I look for to a woman my grandchildren choose to marry."
"What?" Sakura asked, her confusion making its way to her face as Sakura's frown deepens, she looked at the woman as if she's talking in a foreign language.
