The next morning, I woke up with a terrible hangover. I'd woken up in the room alone. I figured Shane had woken up a while ago. He set clothes on the couch for me to get dressed. A t-shirt which appeared to be Shane's, with jeans, and a button up. When I opened the door Shane was just down the hall, like he'd left only moments ago.

"Shane!" I called down the hall and he turned around smiling. My head was pounding but, him just being there made it easier to bare.

"Good morning." His morning voice made me giggle. I gave him a hug and he smiled. "How bad are you?"

"My head hurts more than that scratch does. About last night- can we keep it between us? I have a reputation for hating you, and it needs to stay that way. Also, how bad are you?" I cleared my throat and he smiled.

"I feel terrible, and I was just thinking about that. I think sneaking around everyone is going to be fun." Shane kissed my head. "To do that, you'll need to keep this covered." Shane pulled up my shirt most likely covering a hickey. We both walked to the cafeteria.

"Hey." Shane said as he walked to the coffee pot. I laid my head on one of the metal serving things. The cold was helping my head.

"Hey, feel as bad as I do?" Rick chuckled as he saw us. I groaned and stood up. I went to the coffee pot and waited for Shane to finish pouring his coffee.

"Worse." Shane answered and when he stepped back T-Dog noticed the scratch.

"The hell happen to you?" T-Dog looked concerned. I swallowed and poured my coffee. "Your neck?"

"I must have done it in my sleep." Shane perfectly dodged the question.

"Never seen you do that before." Rick shot back. I take back my statement.

"Me neither. Not like me at all." Shane cleared his throat and took a drink of his coffee. I smelled the freshly poured coffee and smiled, I took a drink like a little kid. Jenner walked in and the next thing I knew we were back in Zone 5, where I was drinking my coffee only half paying attention to everything going on. I picked up a few things that was going on, the only thing I actually understood was the screen. My brother worked on scientific studies, a doctor. He'd show me the cool things about every thing he did. The videos, pictures. We were watching a brain die, and reanimate. The brain in the picture was turning black, ultimately, death. The stem was turning red, restating the brain. Jenner powered down the system. I started to understand everything going on. Dale asked a question that caught my attention the most.

"I hate to ask one more question, but... that clock. It's counting down. What happens at zero?" Dale pointed. I took another sip of my coffee.

"The basement generators- they run out of fuel." Jenner started to walk away.

"And then?" Rick asked and nothing. "VI, what happens when the power runs out?" Rick called our and the computer answered.

"When the power runs out, facility-wide decontamination will occur." VI answered. Rick, T-Dog, Shane, and Glenn immediately started looking for the generators. I went to the Rec. room to find a few books. I was dead set on reading when I got the chance. I had grabbed a lot of books when I went to put them in my bag for later. The lights and AC turned off. I poked my head out and saw Jenner walking down the hall. I ran back in grabbed my bag of shit. I can out and he was past my room already. I jogged down and followed him.

"Energy use is being prioritized." Jenner said as he kept walking. Dale said something I couldn't make out and we all followed him. I was in the very back as we entered the main room of Zone 5.

"Hey! Hey! What the hell does that mean! Hey man I'm taking to you. What do you mean it's shutting itself down? How can a building do anything?" Daryl kept asking questions. I peered over the edge and saw the boy's running in.
