Bath Time

"Hey Lo, could you- could you help me with something?" Virgil stood in the arch way of the living room where Logan was laying on the couch, reading a book.

"Yes? What do you need assistance with?" Logan set the book beside him and walked over to his husband. Logan couldn't help but notice the pink dusting over Virgil's cheeks and that he was nervously nibbling on his thumb.

"Well- you see I need to take a bath, but- um- I can't exactly reach anywhere below my stomach. I-I need your help," stuttered Virgil, his cheeks flushing much redder the farther he got in the sentences.

Logan smiled warmly and took Virgil's cheek in his hand. Virgil looked up at him with big, puppy dog eyes that made Logan's chest fill with warmth.

"Of course I'll help you Virgil. You pick out your clothing and I'll start the bath," Logan said, both of them walking (Virgil waddling on the account that he was eight and a half months pregnant) to their bedroom. Once there Logan headed to the large bathroom attached to their bed room and started the water, waiting for it to get to the right temperature before putting in the plug and waiting for the water to rise. Virgil came in only a few minutes later with his (very comfortable) large sleeping dress he found a few months ago and a new pair of underwear.

"The water should be ready soon," said Logan, flicking some drops off his fingers.

Virgil nodded as he began to take off his clothes, Logan needing to help him with his dress's zipper since he couldn't reach. Once undressed Virgil was carefully placed in the bathtub by Logan who claimed he could slip and the wall was too tall. Virgil sat cross legged in the water with his checks still dusted pink as he awkwardly looked down at his hands which rested on his pregnant belly.

"Virgil, honey, it's okay. You don't need to be embarrassed about this, we've had to do this before with both you and me," said Logan while filling a large cup up with water.

"Yeah, I know, but it's still embarrassing to me," Virgil closed his eyes as the water was poured on his head, making his hair falling in front of his eyes.

"Do you remember the first time you got drunk? Somehow you managed not to have a seizure and got blackout drunk. You couldn't take care for yourself the next day and I was assigned to care for you by Janus since he was too busy taking care for Patton, Remus, and Roman. I had to bathe you then Virgil. And you had to bathe me after we got married and I was bedridden with the flu for a week," Logan put some shampoo in Virgil's hair and started to scrub.

"Yeah, I can't remember much because of the headache, but I do remember taking care of you. You were absolutely pitiful and whining about how you couldn't work while sick," Virgil smiled while keeping his eyes squeezed shut so he wouldn't get shampoo in his eyes.

"I wasn't whining, Virgil. I was merely disgruntled by the fact that I couldn't get any work done during the week I was sick," Logan griped.

"Sure, keep telling yourself that," giggled Virgil only stopping when Logan dumped some more water on his head to rid the shampoo.

"I will," huffed Logan while putting the lavender scented conditioner into Virgil's hair (because Logan likes that its makes Virgil's hair very soft and Virgil likes the calming smell of lavender). The rest of Virgil's bath went on in relative quiet beside the small banter every now and again. Logan washed everywhere Virgil couldn't reach because of the baby and even where he could. Virgil complained about how he could wash himself, but Logan shushed him and continued washing.

Once done Logan helped Virgil out of the tub and gave him a towel, Virgil drying himself off then changing into his fresh clothes. Logan waited for him in the bedroom, reading a book on the bed until Virgil walked out. When Virgil opened the bathroom door his hair was still damp from the bath, but the rest of him was dry. He walked past their bed where Logan gently grabbed his wrist and pulled him down next to him.

"Logan what're you doing?" Virgil asked as Logan rested his chin on Virgil's shoulder and wrapped his arms above Virgil's (very large) belly.

"You've been busy all day. You need to relax," Logan mumbled.

"But I need to get the nursery ready," pouted Virgil, resting his head against Logan's.

"You know, these could be early signs of labor. I researched it and if pregnant people start doing things in the nursery such as folding the baby's clothes, organize toys, and prepare the crib then they could be early inductions that your in labor. It's called nesting," Logan said, Virgil raising a skeptical eyebrow.

"Lo I'm due in two weeks, it's seems obvious that I'd by trying to busy myself," said Virgil, leaning back on to Logan's chest.

"I'm simply pointing out the facts," Logan combed his fingers though Virgil's damp hair.

"The baby will get here when they want. There's no rush, but I would prefer sooner rather than later," Virgil closed his eyes and rested his hands on top of Logan's.

"Yes, no rush," Logan sighed.
