About a month later the friend group was back to Logan's and Virgil's, everyone sitting in the living room on the floor was Nico played with his toys, a pacifier in his mouth. The TV was playing a movie in the background, but no one was really paying attention to it, everyone too engrossed with a conversation they were having or watching Nico play. Everglade was on the couch observing them, but had fallen asleep after a few minutes.

Virgil's phone suddenly rang and he stood up, leaving the room to take the phone call. Nico, however, seemed to object to this, stopping his play and crawling after his dad. He soon realized that crawling wasn't an effective or fast way of travel, so he opted to sit down and pout.

"Awe, Nico it'll be okay. Your dad will be back soon," said Patton.

"Yeah, he just has to make a quick call," added Roman.

"Eh, I saw it was Remy calling so it might be a bit longer than most," Remus snickered.

An idea seemed to come to the baby as he started moving again, but this time rising to his feet and standing on wobbly legs. Nico's arms stuck out at his sides to keep balance, but once he obtained that he stood his first wobbly little step.

"Awe!" Patton squealed, his hand shooting over his mouth as he saw Nico stumble.

"Virgil!" Logan called, his husband looking in to see his baby taking another step closer. Virgil gasped softly and knelt down to be at Nico's level.

"He missed you," said Janus as Nico fell into Virgil's arms.

"Obviously. Good job Nico, good job baby!" Virgil pressed a kiss against his son's head and wavy black hair.

Virgil carried Nico back over to the group before sitting down, Nico sitting in his lap before pushing himself back up onto his feet. Nico then walked over to Logan who held his hands out to catch him if he were to trip.

They spend the rest of the day with Nico walking around the living room, ping-ponging from one person to another.

Short and fluffy, for y'all.

Y'all I've been thinking about the progress of this book and lemme tell you, it's gonna be long (like, really long. Probably my longest story), and in the far, far, far future (Nico's in elementary school when it happens) it's gonna get angsty. Like, really angsty
