Unpacking is Not Eventful

The next day at 8:00 a.m. they all woke up. Virgil was a lot more compliant about getting up that morning, the prior morning just seemed to be one of those days. They all ate breakfast together then got into their respective cars, driving to Logan and Virgil's house to meet the moving company and the twins (Roman and Remus) at 9:30 a.m.

"Logan I don't care what you say, this house is fancy as hell," Roman said as Logan unlocked the front door.

"Roman just leave it," sighed Logan, everyone entering the brightly lit room.

"I like how open and bright it is," Patton smiled.

"That's why we picked it. The openness is nice," said Virgil, looking down a bit.

Logan put an arm around Virgil's waist and help him closer to him, knowing dark, closed, or small spaces were never a good place for Virgil to be. They all took their shoes off as to not mess up the (incredibly soft) greyish off white carpet. There were a few boxes near the wall from the day prior, but the rest of the house was completely empty.

"Soooooooo. Are you willing to show us around your house?" Patton asked.

"Sure, though Logan might have to lead, I barely remember the lay out," said Virgil with a small smile.

"Well to the right is the kitchen, dining area, master bedroom, wet bar, laundry room, door to the garage, and a few doors to the patio," Logan started while gesturing to the hallway on the left side of the front door.

"This place has a wet bar?! Janus you must be happy," Roman said, his loud voice echoing around the empty house. Janus gave a small nod but said nothing else.

"Yes, well it's not like we will be using it that often. You know how much I enjoy alcohol and Virgil has been prohibited from having any during his pregnancy," said Logan, Virgil rolling his eyes.

"Not like I drink it anyway. Who wants to have a seizure just because of a little booze?" Virgil joked morbidly, Patton looking away while Roman shifted on his feet. Janus looked over at Remus who looked like he was reliving a traumatic event.

Patton and Roman were pretty much scarred because of the first time Virgil had a seizure in front of them, it being senior year of high school. It's not like it was a bad seizure either, only a simple partial seizure which caused him to accidentally drop a glass cup. Though the shatter did scare them and when they saw Virgil barely able to control himself and his movement they almost had panic attacks. Janus and Remus on the other hand had gotten used to it, since they knew Virgil much longer and had to experience many of his seizure throughout the years.

"Well, to the left is where the other three bedrooms are along with the other two bathrooms," continued Logan, the tension before easing a tiny bit because of the distraction.

"Okay, so you have three bedrooms and I know one of them is for the baby, but what're the other two for?" Patton asked as the group walked to the kitchen.

"Well one of them will be a guest room, then the other will be Logan's office," said Virgil.

"Oh, okay. What time is it?" Patton looked down at his wrist that had a pink Hello Kitty digital watch that usually came from kids' meals. "9:24. They should be getting here soon."

Only a few minutes later and there was a knock on the front doors. Logan was quick to answer it, the movers outside and ready to start bringing in boxes. The moving in of boxes only lasted two hours, each box(es) waiting in their designated room. They decided to assemble the bed first since it would be needed at night. Virgil offered to help, being a robotics engineer, but Roman, Janus, and Logan told him no.

"Virgil you shouldn't be doing such strenuous work while pregnant. We know you can built this, but we don't want you getting hurt," Roman reasoned.

And so Virgil was banished to the kitchen with Patton and Remus where they unpacked all the cups, plates, pots, pans, utensils and up other such things. Remus was sent outside after breaking two plates, denting a frying pan, and snapping a spoon and a knife while trying to help unpack. After Remus left Virgil and Patton worked quickly and with light banter filling the room as they unpacked the seven boxes in the kitchen.

"Maybe we should get a rug in here. So the baby won't break a bone in the tile," Virgil thought aloud while putting some towels in their new drawer.

"Virgil the baby won't break a bone in here," Patton chuckled while sitting on the counter to reach the top cupboard.

"You don't know that! There are so many things that could go wrong I can barely start to list them. I'm just glad we found a one story house and not a two story," Virgil carried the now empty cardboard box to the small stack of emptied ones.

"Virgil everything will be fine. Just be glad you're in here and not trying to put the bed together," Patton hopped down from the counter and grabbed two mugs from their wrapping.

"Building the bed is easy. I just have an over protective husband who doesn't want me to help him out," huffed Virgil.

"I guess you're right, but if Logan's over protective now just imagine how much more he will be when you're nine months pregnant," teased Patton with a mischievous smirk.

"Oh god I'm never going to do anything again," Virgil said as the thought about it.

Patton laughed and Virgil pouted slightly before they finished up with the kitchen, Virgil realizing they might need to get more kitchen appliances after seeing how much they actually had. Once finished with the kitchen Virgil and Patton moved onto the living room, setting up the TV, couch, armchair, side table, coffee table, and other things then finding all the pillows and blankets. They even stopped mid unpacking to make a small pillow and blanket fort in the living room and watch an episode of Steven Universe.

At the end of the day Patton and Virgil had unpacked the kitchen and the living room, meeting up with Roman, Janus, and Logan who seemed to have had some trouble with the bed and Remus who was unbanned from outside (he wrestled an alligator while out there). They were all happy to call it a day and go to sleep that night.
