To the Stars and Back [Sanders Sides Analogical AU]

Two days after Loki was born Logan was woken up at 6:03 in the morning by his phone ringing. Growling softly to himself be carefully maneuvered over to his night side while being careful of Nico, who was staying with him during the nights Virgil was gone. Due to the surgery both Virgil and Loki were staying in the hospital for longer to make sure nothing happened. They would both be coming home after seven days stay, to ensure Virgil healed nicely. However, Virgil was going to have many limitations once he returns home, but they haven't gotten the full list yet.

Any who, Logan grabbed his phone and looked at the contact, a tiny pit of fear that it was the hospital forming in his stomach. Thankfully his mind was put to rest when he saw his boss' name appear. He quickly hit the green button and put the phone up to his ear, shifting in the bed so he was leaning against the headboard. Nico was curled up next to him, practically sitting in his lap as he slept soundly.

"Logan!" his boss spoke from the other end.

"Sir? What do you need assistance with?" Logan asked, his voice thick with sleep as he fought back a yawn.

"We're having major issues here and we need your held. Do you think you could come in today?" said his boss.

"I'm not certain, sir. I have to watch my son since my husband is at the hospital," Logan explain, his unoccupied hand moving down to rub general circles on Nico's back.

"Couldn't you leave him with a friend?" asked his boss, starting to sound desperate.

"No sir, they all gave work today. I suppose I could come in at eight, but I'll have to bring Nico with me," said Logan.

"Really?! Great! Yes, eight would be good, that'd be great! And it's fine if you bring your son," his boss cheered, Logan rolling his eyes.

"Alright sir. I'll be there in two hours, with Nico," Logan repeated.

"Yes! See you then!" With that the call ended and Logan slid down in the bed to recapture some sleep before he needed to get up.

After about an hour and fifteen minutes of extra sleep Logan woke up again and also woke Nico up. They then started their route; get up, go to the bathroom, make breakfast then eat breakfast, brush teeth, and put on day clothes.

Normally afterwards they would move into the living room where Nico would watch educational TV while Logan worked on his lap top. At twelve they would have lunch then go visit Virgil and Loki in the hospital. But today they were in the car heading for Logan's place of work.

"Dada where we going?" Nico asked from the backseat.

"We're going to where I work. They need my help, so we're just making a quick stop then we'll get lunch and visit daddy and Loki at the hospital," said Logan.

"Okie dada,"

About ten minutes later they pulled into the parking lot, Logan helping Nico out of the car and they walked up to the building. Now Logan did work for NASA, he just didn't work at NASA. He worked at a small branching part of it two hours away from the main center, in Gainesville, since Virgil and him agreed they didn't want to live anywhere else considering all there friends were in Gainesville. The building was a three story, rectangular building with a small courtyard in the middle. There were different areas, or sections, in the building, such as offices, conference halls, laboratories, test sites, cafeteria, and storage area.
