A few days later Janus, Patton, Roman, and Remus came over to hang out for the evening. Patton was very excited to learn that Nico could crawl, nearly breaking glass with how loud he squealed upon seeing it. They all congregated in the living room where Nico was playing with a few toys on the ground with Patton while everyone else was sitting in the couch or an armchair. They had the television on the news channel since some dangerous storm clouds had been approaching.

"It appears there is a massive storm heading for us. Expected amounts of rain fall depend on your area, but range from three to nine inches. Expect strong winds up to ten miles an hour along with lightening in thunder. We advise everyone to stay inside to wait out this storm. It should last from eight p.m. to five a.m. with a short buffering period between the hours of one a.m. and two a.m.," the weatherman reported, Logan immediately getting up and disappearing into the kitchen only to return a few minutes later with what looked like sunglasses and headphones.

"You got them?" Virgil asked, not looking up from his book.

"Yes. You'll put them on at the first sound of thunder?" Logan returned to his seat next to Virgil and placed the items in Virgil's lap.

"Of course,"

"How about we put in a movie to distract us from the storm?" Roman suggested, everyone nodding.

"What should we watch then?" asked Janus as Logan picked up the remotes.

"It has to be family friendly for Nico," Virgil said, eying Remus in particular.

"Oooohhhh! How about Bambi! That has cute little animals in it and there aren't that many scary parts!" Patton said from the floor as Nico gurgled behind the pacifier in his mouth.

"Patton you cried for an hour after Bambi's mother's death scene," Janus said.

"So did Roman," added Remus with a laugh as Roman sputtered an excuse.

"I think it'll be fine. Besides, Nico's too distracted to care much," Logan looked down at his son who was playing with a few blocks, making a small tower out of them.

"Bambi it is," they agreed, Logan pulling up Disney+ and finding the movie.

They watching in relative silence, excluding Roman's commentary and Remus' inappropriate jokes. They had gotten to the time in the movie in which Bambi and Thumper were ice skating on the pond when the thunder started. Without hesitation Virgil put on the glasses to block the lightening and the noise canceling headphones. The glasses still allowed him to see, he just didn't see bright flashes of lights and the headphones canceled out the thunder for the most part. Sometimes, if there were extremely large cracks, he could feel it in the ground.

The thunder continued, getting louder and more frequent along with the lightening. One very large flash of lightening was followed by an extremely loud crack of thunder, both Patton and Roman jumping from surprise while Nico froze. He then started to cry, wailing and dropping his pacifier as he crawled over to his parents. Virgil seemed to sense his son in distress, scooping him up off the ground and into his arms.

"Shhh, it's okay honey. It was just thunder. It can't hurt you," Virgil cooed to his baby, Nico whimpering and burying his face into his dad's shirt, small hands gripping the material tightly.

Virgil hummed softly to his baby, gently rubbing his back and pressing kisses into his head every time he felt a rumble.

The movie ended and they ended up playing another one (Finding Dory) then everyone decided to crash there for the night, since no one wanted to try driving home in that storm and the fact it was well past ten at night. Janus and Patton claimed the guest room, while Roman and Remus took the couch. More specifically; Roman slept on the couch while Remus managed to sleep behind it.

"Yeah he's staying with us tonight," Virgil said as he carried his sleeping son to their bedroom, refusing to let him sleep alone in the nursery.

"If that's what makes you feel better then I have no objections," said Logan, sitting down on their bed and watching Virgil delicately place their child in the bassinet that was still up in their room for times like these.

"Will he be okay?" Virgil asked as he sat down on the bed, Logan taking his hands and laying him down so they were on their side and staring at each other.

"I'm sure he'll be fine. If he gets scared then he'll cry and you'll most definitely hear it," said Logan, pressing a kiss to his husband's forehead. "Now we sleep."

"Okay," murmured Virgil, crawling under the covers and taking off the glasses and headphones, setting them on the side table. "Sleep sounds good."

Virgil sighed and closed his eyes, tensing up slightly at the sound of thunder, but relaxing as Lohan pulled him closer. Logan rested his chin on Virgil's head while Virgil nestled against his chest. They fell asleep in the comforting embrace.

If anyone is wonder why most of these chapters end with them sleeping it's because I write these at night so all I want to do it sleep. I'm a night writer since that's when I'm not only motivated, but feeling very creative. I've stayed up until three in the morning (probably not that bad) just writing a chapter for a story.
