Logan and Virgil sat on the couch in the living room with Nico and Everglade. The collie had grown to her full size over the past several months, being a large, fluffy, love bug who was very protective of her family, especially Nico (and Virgil because she can sense his anxiety).

"How's Nico doing today?" Virgil asked.

"Good! Oro bes fend!" the 20 month old said happily, smiling wildly. The Oro Nico referred to being the large black and white cat plush Logan had gotten for him all those moons ago. Originally the name was Oreo, but Nico can't pronounce the word just yet so he says Oro.

"Thats lovely to heard baby. Do you think you'll want to make any more friends?" Logan asked.

"No!" Nico declared, leaning against Logan's chest as he sat in his lap.

"Maybe that'll change. It did for me," Virgil smiled, giving Logan a knowing look.

"Mabe," muttered Nico, nestling his head farther into Logan's shirt.

A sudden song started to play, both Virgil and Nico flinching slightly at the sudden noise. Virgil looked down at his phone, seeing it was ringing.

"It's Remy. I gotta take this real quick, okay Lo?" Virgil said.

"Perfectly fine, love. Take all the time you need," answered Logan.

Virgil smiled and gave Logan a quick peck on the cheek before leaving the room. Logan turned his attention back to Nico, subtly playing with his son by moving Nico's arms with his fingers since Nico's hands were wrapped around his two pointer fingers.

"W-what?" Logan suddenly heard from the kitchen.

There was a beat of silence which was probably for Remy to speak.

"W-when?" Virgil asked, his voice shaky causing a pit of worry to fill Logan's stomach.

"O-okay. D-do we need to meet up to talk in person?" the conversation continued.

"A-alright. I'll meet you there in fifteen minutes. Okay. Bye," with that the conversation ended.

Virgil came back into the living room, his head handing a bit, but Logan saw a shocked or stunned look on his face.

"Virgil? Are you okay? Is something wrong?" Logan asked, standing up and walking over to him. He placed his right hand (the hand that wasn't supporting Nico) on Virgil's shoulder. Virgil looked up at him, tears welling in his eyes.

"M-my grandparents died. Remy just called to tell me. They both passed away last night in their sleep," Virgil said, the tears now falling down his face, his beautiful green and purple eyes clouded with grief.

Logan's eyes softened at the news. He knew Virgil's grandparents were very special to him, after all, they raised him after he was rescued and helped him through his CPTSD, anxiety, and epilepsy. They were like the parents he never remembered, since his real parents died when he was three. They were there for him when no one else was. They were like his anchor, the ones he could always talk to and lean on. And now they're both gone.

"I'm going to meet Remy so we can arrange the funeral and talk finances. Will you be okay with Nico?" asked Virgil.

"We'll be fine. Go talk to Remy then come back and morn for them. I know you don't like showing your emotions like this, but if you don't morn then you'll just shove them down and become a shell of emotionlessness until it's too much to handle and you either have a mental breakdown, seizure, or both. I'll be waiting for you to come home and by then I'll be ready with the blankets," said Logan, the slightest hint of smirks tugging at his lips and Virgil's too.

"Thanks Lo. I'll be back eventually, take care of him and I'll see you once we're done," Virgil sniffed.

"Of course love. Be safe please, and come home," Logan said as Virgil left to change into actual clothes and not 'around the house' clothes.

"Dada, wa wron?" Nico asked sleepily.

"It's nothing sweetie, just go back to sleep. Your daddy's going to see your uncle Remy for a little while then he'll be back," Logan assured the child. "It'll be alright. I promise."

At least one of y'all will probably think this so imma say it so no one has to worry: Virgil gets there and comes back fine, okay. He's fine (in a manner of speech), Logan's fine, and Nico's fine. There's no car crashes or anything. Virgil goes there, meets with Remy, they both cry a little since they were very close to their grandparents, discuss legal terms, finances, and wills, then return home. At home Virgil gets to cry in his bedroom for a few hours before Logan allows ice cream for dinner and the family watches two movies together on the couch swaddled in blankets and pillows.

Now that it's all cleared up in need y'all to answer two things for me.
1. I need requests for future chapters because after this one I only have one more chapter until the next stage of this story (and if that happens it'll be a big old time skip, almost a year jump).
2. If y'all's be so kind, could y'all please rank your favorite stories of mine (from first to last) that are still being written (if you read all of my stories, that is. I know some do, but not everyone reads all of my stories, which is fine. I'll admit some are better than others). Those are 'Coco Bean', 'World We Don't Know', 'The Path We Follow', and this one, 'To the Stars and Back'. I would like to know which stories people like so I can update those more since some many people like those.
I will not be offended by your answers if you do comment.
If anything I'll be minority depressed, but that's something I always deal with
