Three Day Bonding Time (Pt 4)

"What to do now lil one?" Logan asked the baby as he held him on his legs, Nico giggling again while putting the tips of his fingers in his mouth.

"Do you want to go out and get some teething toys?" Logan tilted his head causing Nico to burst into a giggle fit, flapping his arms and kicking his little feet.

"I'll take that as a yes," Logan picked up his baby and made his way to the kitchen, grabbing his phone, keys, and wallet before heading to the car. Logan buckled Nico into his car seat, Nico being a fit of giggles the entire time which only made Logan smile more. They drove to the nearby baby store (the one Patton dragged Virgil to when he was pregnant with Nico) and went in, Logan having his baby in his arms since he was still a little too young for the seat in shopping carts.

They went to the teething and food section where Logan picked out some of the most common and useful teething toys, such as the very common and classic giraffe, a banana that was like a baby's first toothbrush (of sorts), several gelatin looking ones that imitated fingers, helped reach the back molars, and are just refreshing to bite. He also allowed Nico to pick one that was a pineapple with plenty of texture to be appealing for chewing on. While at the store Logan also picked up some more milk formula and some mashed fruit mixtures since Nico was in love with fruit.

They got all there things and headed for the check out line. There Logan noticed a stand of stuffed animals for sale. Just the classic TY Binniboos for little children along with some random other brands. As they walked by Nico suddenly leaned towards them, reaching out his hands and whining as he tried to grabbed a rather large white cat with sewed on black patches. It was a bit round, had small, yet expressive green eyes and a pink nose.

"Do you want that Nico? It's almost the same size as you," Logan commented as he grabbed the stuffed animal and showed his son, the baby wrapping his arms around it and rubbing his cheeks up against the material.

"If you insist," chuckled Logan as they made it to the cash register. They purchased all their needs, including the cat, then left, Nico still hugging the stuffed animal.

"Just know Nico that you won't be able to sleep with that cat until you're twelve months old," he told his baby as he got him in the car seat, setting the cat next to him and the bags in the back.

They drove home where Nico had his second nap, chewed on his knew toys, ate diner with Logan, had to be changed again, another nap, more playing, then it was almost bed time. Just before bed Virgil called and told him how treasure hunting went, how dog tired he was, and that he couldn't call Logan earlier because he was tired. Logan happily told him about their day and had Nico babble incoherently into the phone for him. After the nearly one hour call it was most certainly bed time.

While Logan was tired when he crawled into bed that night he was also happy. Happy he was able to spend the whole day with his tiny, adorable son, and also happy his husband would be returning sometime the next day. With that comforting thought he drifted off to sleep.

Next chapter is Virgil returning home and being both tired from treasure hunting and happy to see his husband and baby whom he missed a lot during the trip.
