"You said you wouldn't be traveling this season," Logan complained as he watched Virgil pack his small suitcase.
"I thought I wasn't, but you know Remus. He's full of surprises. And I won't even be going out of the country. Just a short flight to New Mexico to go on a hike in the Rocky Mountains. I'll be back in three days," Virgil closed the suitcase and zipped it up.
"You're abandoning us to go treasure hunting in the Rocky Mountains," Logan pouted while bouncing Nico on his knee.
"I'm not abandoning you, ya big baby," chuckled Virgil and gave Logan a peck on the cheek, "I'm just going on a hike in the mountains with Remus. Get some exercise and fresh air after being trapped with a baby for nearly a year if you include the pregnancy."
"So it's my turn to watch the baby now, huh?" remarked Logan with a smirk.
"Only for three days. You'll be fine, Nico's a good baby," Virgil held his baby's face in his hands and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
"I believe in you and you'll be able to spend a bit of time with Nico. You said you wanted some quality time with him," continued Virgil with a smile as he picked up his suitcase and backpack, "now that he's five months old he likes playing peak-a-boo, though he doesn't like hide-and-go-seek. You can also mash up some vegetables or fruit in his food and let him lay on his belly. He'll probably start crawling soon."
"I know Virgil. Now let's get you to the airport to meet with Remus, Thomas, Joan, and Talyn," Logan stood up, carrying Nico in his arms as they left their room and into the garage.
The ride was about forty-five minutes and when they made it to the airport they found Remus, Thomas, Joan, and Talyn all waiting for them. Virgil got out of the car with his stuff, gave Logan a kiss goodbye and a goodbye kiss to Nico before joining the group and heading inside. Logan watched them leave before pulling out, Nico making some confused babbles as they left.
The two arrived back home where Logan took Nico out of his car seat and couldn't help but notice the tear streaks on his cheeks.
"It'll be alright Nico. Your daddy just left for work, he'll be back in a few days," Logan cooed, wiping awake the tear streaks and taking him inside, putting the baby on his lap once he sat on the couch. Nico gurgled a bit, clapping his hands together and kicking his little feet. Logan couldn't help but crack a smile at his son. Sure, most people see him as cold and emotionless, but he was just really good at hiding emotions, which in hindsight wasn't the most healthy thing to do. Thankfully his wonderful husband helped him express himself more and he's been getting better with his feelings in comparison to high school.
Right now Logan was feeling oh so much joy with his tiny, adorable son and didn't care what anyone would think of him. If he wanted to goof around and blow raspberries on his baby's stomach just to hear him squeal with joy then that was what he was going to do. After all, he now has three days to spend with Nico all to himself. He's not going to waste a second.
The next three chapters will be three lil tidbits from Logan's time taking care of lil baby Nico. Hope y'all enjoy them
