Chapter 28

I woke up the next morning without Janine beside me. I sent her a message. A morning greeting. Nakatanggap rin naman ako agad ng reply.

I checked the messages of my managers. Lalo na yung sa Manila. Gusto ko sanang dumalaw sa site kaya lang, baka delikado. And I'm hundred percent sure that Janine won't let me.

Mag isa akong nag breakfast at tinawagan na lang si Reese. Ikinuwento ko sa kanya si Kael. She suddenly wants to visit me and meet Kael in person.

Hindi siya pwedeng dumalaw ngayon dahil ngayon lang sila ulit nakapagsama ni Aubrey.

Our video call lasted for almost two hours. Ayaw pa sana niyang ibaba ang tawag pero rinig ko na rin ang pagtawag ni Aubrey sa kanya.

Inabala ko ang sarili sa pagsagot ng mga tawag at updates. Kyron messaged me about the public resort in Cavite.

I'm now investing in a brand new car. Hindi ko naman mabibitbit sa hukay ang mga pera ko kaya ayos lang na gastahin ngayon.

Isa pa, I already transferred the resorts to Reese and my brothers. Kay Kael na lang ang aasikasuhin ko.

I just want to be secured with regards to their future.

My grade 9 brother, Kyle, asked if he can have a free access on my private resort in Dasmariñas. Aniya'y gusto niya raw mag blowout dahil sa pag kakapanalo ng basketball team nila.

"Sure. Mag ingat lang and magpaalam nang maayos kay mommy."

He thanked me before bidding goodbye. I can even hear his excitement.

It's not that I'm spoiling him or anything... But before all these successes, I rarely give my brothers what they need. And now that I'm capable of doing that, kahit pa ang mga kagustuhan nila, nagagawa ko na ring ibigay.

It was a bittersweet past. And now, looking back to it, I can't be more thankful for all that I have.

I scheduled the contract signing in Cebu next month. I'll be having a call with the current owner next week. Nasa bakasyon lang daw ngayon kaya next week pa pwedeng kausapin.

Nag luto ako ng lunch para sa aming dalawa ni Janine. I'll just eat lunch with her in her office.

I prepared everything nicely. Kahit pa ang ayos ko sa sarili ay masyadong pinaghirapan. Though I didn't put any makeup on, kitang kita naman ang effort ko sa pananamit.

I'm wearing a faded ripped high-waisted jeans, and a white cropped sleeves top. Backless rin ito at nagsuot ako ng white Gucci sandals.

I let my long hair be itself. Walang style na ginawa doon dahil kulang na ako sa oras. I took my designer bag and checked the food once again.

Nang makasiguro sa lahat, lumabas ako ng bahay at nag drive papunta sa office ni Janine.

Ngumiti ako kay Andy at nagpaalam na papasok sa loob pero pinigilan niya ako.

"Is she aware of your visit, ma'am?" she asked as if I needed a reservation or something.

"Andy, it's a surprise visit." I laughed awkwardly.

Nag iwas siya ng tingin at mukhang nabigla sa sinabi ko.

"Sabi po kasi ni Ms. Donna, h'wag raw po akong mang istorbo po sa kanila, ma'am." she apologetically said.

That bitch.

"Just let Janine know that I'm waiting here." I smiled as I dismissed the talk.

Nagsalita siya sa intercom at agad rin akong pinapasok ni Janine.
