Chapter 15

Maya finally called me back straight after school and said she will stop by later today, she definitely sounded like she has something juicy to tell me.

In the meantime I just stay in bed all day watching Netflix movies and eating chocolates. The nurse brought lunch in around the time when Jason was here, but I only ate it at 2 pm, and then I took my medication. Today has been a good day, and I feel like Maya's drama is going to make it better, well more interesting. 

Around 4:15 pm, Jason and Maya both enter my room, 

"Hey you guys, I see you two found each other." They give each other this weird look that I don't understand. "Anyways, Jason, could you wait outside for minute or two, Maya and I need to discuss something," I say while giving Maya a cynical smile. 

"Ave, that's what I-"

"OH MY GOSH AVERY!"

"NURSE! NURSE!NURSE!"

"She's having a seizure, turn her."

"I'm going to need you two to leave, NOW"

"Wait, is she going to be okay???"

"Miss you have to leave!"

I wake up to a bright light shining in my eyes,"Pupils are responsive."

"Good, bring me her pill container."

"What did she have to eat?"

"Scrambled eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast and beef stew and rice for lunch."

"Her body must have had a bad reaction to one of the medications then."

"Doc what do you need me to do?"

"Give me her medication track record from the last year."

"What happened ?" I ask since these nurses and doctor seem to be more interested in why it happened and not me.

"She's awake Doctor Mitchell."

"Avery, can you hear me?" she asks hovering over my face, her breathe smells like she hasn't eaten in days. 

"Yes I can hear you," and smell you, back tf up. 

"You had a seizure, but you'll be okay, we think it was a bad reaction to one of the medications, has this ever happened before?" Thank goodness she stopped hovering over me, I would've passed out if she stayed any longer.

"No, never."

"Okay so leave the track record, get me a list of everything she just started taking," Doctor Mitchell says to, I'm guessing, one of the nurses. 

"Avery, you need to get some rest, can you do that for me?" 

I don't even bother responding, I just close my eyes and let sleep take me.

I wake up around midnight, and take note of the dinner left next to my bed, but I'm not hungry so I don't even bother checking what's in there. I check my phone and see 6 missed calls from mom, 2 from dad, 8 from Maya and 1 from Jason, and several text messages from each of them. I call Maya first because she called me the most times.

"Ave! Are you okay? I was so scared."

"Yes I'm fine, it was just your average joe seizure. I'm going to have another one if you don't tell me what you've been hiding right now."

"Ave it's midnight, can I please tell you tomorrow." I take a few seconds to think it over.

"Fine, but then you have to visit me during the day, you get to skip school and see your best friend, lucky you." 

"Okay deal, I'll see you tomorrow, 11 am sharp, goodnight Ave, love you." 

"Night, love you too." I hang up and then realize I'm too tired to deal with my moms theatrics, so I just send her a message.

"Hey mom, just had a seizure, no biggie, I'm fine. So don't worry and tell dad and Jason not to worry either, I will call you first thing in the morning, goodnight, I love you guys, xoxo Ave:)"
