"Hey Avery, I need you to be at my place by 11 am, I should be back around 4 pm, I've prepared food, it's in the fridge and I left a list there of things Palmer likes doing in case you guys get bored. Thanks again, I really appreciate it. :) Melanie."

I wake up to that text from Melanie, Kai told me last night that he has to be at his dads fight today so he can't be with Palmer and I, which is a good thing. I have many questions to ask Palmer about all of this, I still can't believe what I heard last night... a drug that speeds up your growth mentally??? Where would Dane even get that from, why would he inject his 4 year old child with it? How did a little girl deal with all of this on her own? Who is her inside man? How does she speak to him? I have all these questions, and today I'm getting my answers, even if it is from someone who just learnt how to count to 10. The upside is I can't break it off with Kai until Palmer tells me everything, he is my only connection to her, otherwise I'd just be visiting my former doctors child. Which is very weird.

I get to Melanie's apartment at exactly 10:55 am, as I walk in she walks out after thanking me and telling me to lock the door when she leaves. I do exactly that then walk into the tv room where Palmer is eating cereal.

"Hello Avery," her normal voice coming from her toddler body will never not be creepy.

"Palmer," I say matching her tone. "I have questions," I say.

"I know. Go ahead and ask."

"How do you know so much?"

"Inside man."

"Who is he?"

"I'll tell you but not now."

"Why not now?"

"Avery that is the wrong question," I decide to ask a different set of questions because I'm not getting any real answers from these ones.

"This injection, it cured my cancer, what did it do for you?" she smiles at me and stands up.

"The injection has a different effect on every person, it made me smarter by enhancing my brains abilities aka mind power, not only am I more advanced knowledge wise, I can read minds, I can also do this..." her eyes light up and she stares intently at the coffee table, it starts lifting off of the ground and she moves it to the other side of the room. No. freaking. way. What kind of dream is this. "The injection doesn't turn you into superman, but from what I've seen, it picks something to focus on, usually something that could use improvement or one of your natural talents, and then amplifies it. Since I was just a 4 year old who didn't understand anything, it chose my mind, and it amplified it's abilities. You had health issues, it fixed them, that could be all it does to you or there could be more, that is what we are going to find out today," she explains and then there's a knock at the door and Palmer starts walking towards it.

"Who is that?" I ask knowing I'm supposed to be babysitting.

"You wanted to know who my inside man is," she says in monotone as she opens the door.

"Hello Palmer," I hear this mysterious man say from outside the hall.

"You're here to figure out what she can do, that's it," she barks, I'm guessing she doesn't like this guy so much.

"Always a pleasure to see you," the guy says in a cocky tone and steps inside... what the f- "Avery. It's good to see you again."

"Uncle Arlo," my mind feels like it is about to explode, but that's when it all starts making sense, Arlo is Danes' inside man, he is the one who tipped Dane off about our meeting, he hides the cameras, he was there when Kai and I were explaining everything, that's why he stepped out of the room that day, oh my gosh, was he the one who kidnapped me...
