Chapter 50

Kai's pov

"I could get used to this," Lorenzo says as he adjusts his neck pillow while drinking a glass of champagne. 

"I think you've had enough to drink."

"Dude, this is first class, don't be so lame," he says taking another sip of his seventh glass.

"We're almost there, do you really want to be drunk when we land?" 

"Fine, this is my last one," he surrenders then puts his earphones back into his ears.

After about an hour and a half, we're finally outside of the airport on our way to the hotel. It is so weird being back here, Brazil is definitely the most beautiful country I have been to. Sammy loved it here, he would ride his bike to school, and  even though he won't admit it, his favourite friends are the ones he made here. 

Arlo landed here last night, he has been moving around this place quite a bit, but thankfully, he hasn't moved for a few hours, I think he found Dane. We check into the hotel, Lorenzo and I are staying in rooms adjacent to one another. 

"Come on let's go find him," I say walking into Lorenzo's room but he isn't  here. I walk downstairs to the lobby and see him flirting with the receptionist, I did not miss this version of him. 

"Sorry to bother you but we have an appointment," I state as I've made my way to the happy couple. Lorenzo tells the lady he will be back later and then follows me.

"Do we really have to find Arlo right this second? We just got here," he whines.

"He has been in the same place for hours, chances are, he found Dane, if he moves then we might not get a chance to find Salutis again," I say leaving no room for discussion, I walk out of the hotel, get into the car I hired and we drive towards Arlo. When we get closer to the dot on the screen,  we notice that this is the same area we lived in for a year. 

"There's no ways Salutis was under our noses this whole time," Lorenzo says as we pull into a car repair garage that is right by the gym where his fights took place. We park the car and get out, there's no sign of anyone until a man walks out from behind the car. 

"Can I help you?" he asks. 

"Yes we are looking for our...dad; tall, buff man, you wouldn't have happened to see him come here today, have you?" I'm impressed by how smoothly Lorenzo lied. 

"Maybe I have, for the right price," he says eyeing our outfits head to toe. 

"Here," I say handing him 100 dollars knowing that the people here love dollars more than their own currency because it's easier to buy things off the black market. 

"He went back there," he says after taking the money. We go to where he pointed, it's a back room filled with tools. Why would Arlo be here? Lorenzo and I split up and search the room, I look at the tracking tablet and it says we're right by Arlo. Why does it always have to be some weird movie shit... I sigh.

"Look for a hidden door or something," I say loudly for my brother to hear. 

"Way ahead of you, come see this," he replies, I walk to him and he lifted a mat which had a card with a strange symbol on it. As I said...movie shit. 

"What do we do with this?" he asks. 

"I don't know, look for a card holder or something, it has to be here if the card is here," I say looking at the wall in front of the mat. Lorenzo waves the card over the tool table against the wall, he looks like he is trying to cast a spell. 

"Ah hah," he says when one of the tools start glowing and the wall slides open revealing an elevator. How original. We step into the elevator and there's only 2 buttons, one says up, the other says down, we obviously press down. The doors slide open and we step out into a room full of people in what looks like an opp center. They seem to be having a meeting so no one really pays any attention to us just standing there. There is no Arlo or Dane in sight but that's okay, I'd bet a lot of money that this is Salutis, and the lady standing and talking to the group of people is one of their leaders.
