"Soul Bonded. A story of two lovers, one human, one monster. Torn apart by war," your new director announced to the little part of the cast that had arrived already.
"Uh, yeah that's great and all but there's hundreds of thousands of monster-human couples in the world, don't you think it may be kinda wrong," you said, you'd never worked with this guy before and you already didn't like him.
"You may think, but the point is to show how much the relationship between monsters and humans has improved since coming to the surface," he responded.
You just nodded, not even wanting to get started with this guy. "Ok so let's see who all we've got here right now," he said before naming off your fellow actors and actresses.
"And you miss Y/n, you are the main female role correct," he asked. "Yep that's me." "Your character is also the love interest of our main male lead," he added.
"Oh yeah, Sans right," you asked, you hadn't met him officially but the director has mentioned him a few times.
"Yep, he should be here in a minute, probably be good for you two to introduce yourselves," he said before walking off.
You waited a few minutes, mostly scrolling through your phone until you saw someone sit down in front of you.
"Hey, you're Y/n right," you looked up to see a skeleton monster who you assumed was Sans from what the director has told you.
"Yeah, lemme guess you're Sans," you responded, "yeah nice to meet ya," he said smiling.
"Excited huh," you asked, "absolutely, I've been wanting to be an actor for forever," he replied. "Yeah I remember how good it felt when I finally got my big break too."
"Well, I tried back Underground but there definitely weren't as many opportunities," he said. "Yeah, and now look at you, main lead in a movie," you couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm.
"Well, good to see you're getting along," the director said while handing you both your scripts. "Alright Y/n you need to go talk to our makeup artist," he added.
"Ok, see ya Sans," you said waving bye to him, to which he waved back.
You and the rest of the cast began recording in the next few days, you got along well with about everyone, Sans especially since you were mostly working with him.
And for someone who's claimed to only have taken two acting classes he was a natural, he was almost as good as you, and you'd been acting for years.
Not to mention funny, you'd actually gotten in trouble a couple times off screen because of him making you laugh.
He was definitely your closest friend on set, but once the characters you portrayed grew so much closer it felt like you two did too.
You never acted on anything, you wanted to keep this professional, besides you were just pretending to be lovers on set, not in your real life.
Even off set you two spent a good bit of time together, you'd very often grab something to eat with him once recording was done for the day and a couple of times you go to his place since he wanted to watch some of the movies you had stared in.
As time went on and the movie was almost complete you wondered if you and Sans would stay good friends after the fact, he'd probably get other roles, probably have to film in far places.
Have to play characters that were love interests for other actresses, you didn't care that it was acting, he sounded so honest and serious whenever he flirted with your character, he acted like he actually loved you.
But what happened after this movie was up to him and you were gonna wish him the best regardless.
Now you were at the day where the main characters professed their love for each other, and it was a little awkward between you and Sans that morning, not that it bothered you, but you just didn't wanna keep pretending to love him.
You weren't sure why he was so put off by it, was he that bothered about it, it's just a stage kiss, there's no emotion behind it.
"Action," and the camera was on you two.
"You know they'd never accept us, and what happens if they find out," you said as dramatically and saddened as you could. "I don't know, but I can tell you that I'll be there. Whatever happens I'll be by your side," he said before pulling you close to him and leaning in.
It's just a stage kiss, it's just a stage kiss, it's just a...
This couldn't have been fake, there was far to much real emotion in it to be, this was a real kiss.
"Cut, alright good job let's take a break and pick it back up later," the director said. "Good job you two, way to make it look real," added before leaving.
"Sans, can I talk to you for a moment," you said grabbing his hand and dragging him to your dressing room.
"What was that," you asked, making him look nervous. "What do you mean, it was acting Y/n," he responded.
"I've done several stage kisses Sans, I know the difference between a sincere one and a fake one," you said trying to get the truth out of him.
"I-uh well," he started, sighed and continued. "I'm sorry but I just...can't pretend to love you when I actually do," he admitted.
"Sans...you're right, I can't keep pretending either, I love you too, and I didn't really mind the kiss, I just didn't expect any love to actually be in it," you said.
"Well can you expect this one," he said before pulling you to him like he did before and kissed you once again, this time you were actually able to enjoy it.
"Hehe, that was nice but we should probably get back out there before they wonder where we've run of to," you said going to open the door.
"Heh, let em wonder, let's just stay here for a minute, just the two of us," he said grabbing your wrist and pulling you back to his chest.
"Alright, but only a few minutes, I'll never hear the end of it from the other actresses if they catch us," you responded leaning into his touch.
"Hey a couple minutes or a couple hours, either is perfect when I'm with you."
