{45} Spy

| Phoenix POV: |

I was currently trying to control air. Yes you heard me, control air.

Sounds crazy right?

Now here I am looking like a complete fool while Kyung is silently judging me.

"My gosh, you're horrible." He stated as he gave me a disapproving stare in which I huffed.

I just rolled my eyes at him, "it's not everyday someone tells to control air like it's a walk in the park."

I said, my shoulders slumped in defeat after trying for so many times and not even a little progress was made.

I leaned up against the tree thinking about my life's decisions and how I end up here with a sassy assassin and people trying to kill me for no reason.

"Alright, alright let's take a break. What's up with you and your friend Lily?" He said as he sat on the ground, I tilted my head, "how'd you know about that?" I asked as I started to walk around randomly.

"I just know and that girl who tripped you in the hallway, why she do that?" Kyung asked, playing with a dandelion he found as he waited for my answer.

I heaved a sigh as I start to talk.

"Lily...well she wanted to hang out Saturday and go to a club downtown but I refuse since I have a date with Namjoon already planned."

"She knows I rarely go clubs like that, I thought it won't make a big deal but out of nowhere she got mad at me and started to throw insults, she looked as if she was ready to hit me."

"While the girl in the hallway, her name is Ava Miller, I honestly don't know what's her problem with me, I never talk with her."

"I don't understand why that girl Lily was so insistent for you to go to a club. Like you can always reschedule and that's not something to be that angry about."

Kyung said making me nod.

"That enough talking, let's start again." He said, straightening himself and cracking his knuckles as I heaved out a sigh but still willing to try again.

I walked up to the middle of the forest and closed my eyes as I listened to the birds chirping rather loudly making me slightly furrow my brows but ignore as I took a deep, feeling a spark of energy, making a small smile appear on my face as I felt my hands started to tingle.

My eyes suddenly snapped open when I was roughly pushed aside by someone, I looked up and saw Kyung with his back facing me with a stern look on his face as he scanned the area as if looking for something.

Before I could talk, a ball of fire appeared in Kyung's hand making my eyes widen as he raised his hand as the ball of fire was instantly set out into the tall trees.

Suddenly a crow fell down as I looked at Kyung in confusion, "why did you do that? It's just a bird." I asked, peeking over his shoulder.

"That's not a normal crow Phoenix, that was one of your uncle minions trying to gather information to send back to The Unwritten Rebellion."

Kyung explained, "I placed a shield but I don't know how he still got in, looks like the crow was watching us from the start."

With a serious expression he turned to me, "looks like your uncle is starting to suspect me, we have to tell your mom now."

I instantly nodded as Kyung grabbed ahold of my arm as we both closed our eyes as I can no longer hear the birds chirping.

I haven't gotten use to teleporting.

At all.

Before I could've open my eyes, I instantly felt dizzy as I started to sway, opening my eyes I saw everything was spinning as I try to hold on to my couch.

Closing my eyes again, I quickly blinked a few times as I saw my mom walked into the living room, looking confused.

"Back so soon?" She asked as Kyung walked up to her.

He bowed before speaking, "we was practicing when I notice a crow, I didn't think much of it but than I saw strange power coming from him. I found out it's one of The Unwritten Rebellion leader 'minions."

"I quickly banish him when I found out and instantly bring Phoenix back home."

Kyung explained as my mom once confused face turned into stern one making me kinda scared.

"I was one of the best in shielding and have practiced for so many years, how can he easily break my shield?" Kyung muttered under his breath as I took a seat on the couch as Simba and Midnight strutted into the living room, walking towards me as I gently pat their heads.

My mom sighed, "how long were they watching us? Is my brother-in-law already know you joined sides with us?" My mom questioned herself as she took a seat on a near by couch.

"If so, Phoenix and you are in grave danger."

"Looks like a war is coming sooner than we expect."
