１．７ - ｅｎｃｏｕｎｔｅｒ

since mark returned from his duties with superm he moved back into the nct mansion and started school. everyone was happy that he was back and they ordered some food as welcome back present. they also invited haewon and she agreed.

they were all sitting in the living room, some on the floor some on chair or the couch. everyone was talking and laughing. haewon sat down next to the dreamies. they were quietly eating their pizza eyeing the rest of their members.

"pretty overwhelming huh"

everyone averted their gaze to look at her. pretty confused why she sat down next to them and not one of the other members since she seemed to be pretty close with most of them.

"well yeah, didn't expect to join a gang and meet another in only two days"

renjun answered. the guys seemed kind of relieved that someone talked to them. even though these were their hyungs, they felt now awkward next to them. seeing them handling the business in a such professional way.

"no one expects something big from anyone, you can still talk normal to all of them you know"

"it's just different knowing what they are capable of, we don't even know what we will be in charge of"

"that's not decided yet, we will decide for which position you are most capable of when we saw you in action. you didn't even start the training yet this weekend is for getting to know everything about nct"

"so we will get introduced into the whole business and all of that?"

"yes. you need to know for what you work before you can actually start, it will take some time and you will start with small missions so don't worry there"

all of them visibly relaxed and nodded. even though they were familiar with their hyungs the whole gang shit made them feel like they were strangers to them.

"you know everyone in this room started once. we all know how you feel and besides, you aren't even alone being the new members. you are four in total"

"how did you feel when you joined?"

jisung asked her. all of them looked at her with big curious eyes. but there was one pair of eyes she felt like it was the most intense one. haechan. his eyes burned into her.

"well you see i was really young, like around six years ago. must say i was scared at first, but as you can see i'm fine and still alive"

haewon chuckled. through this conversation, she wanted to take their fear away. they couldn't get better, when they would keep on being as nervous as they were ten minutes ago. also taeyong asked her if she could break the ice, it seemed like it was a better solution to let someone talk to them who wasn't part of nct.

needless to say, it worked. they started making jokes and laughing along with the rest of the members. haewon was glad that they started open up to their members. as they should. but she noticed that someone didn't really participate in the chaos of the others.

mark was sitting on the end of the couch watching his hyungs being absolutely chaotic. sometimes a ghost of a small was seen on his face, but nothing he really showed. haewon was thinking whether she should approach him or not.

even though it seemed like both of them didn't like the idea to be partners, they needed to collaborate to get to their aim. sighing she got up sitting next to him. it shouldn't be that bad, we just need to get along, right?

"hey"

"what do you want"

okay rude much.

"just wanted to introduce myself, geez"

"i'm not interested"

"well too bad that we will work together as a duo"

he sighed harshly before turning to face her.

"listen here bitch, i don't like you and i don't want to do anything with you"

mark got up making his way into the kitchen. haewon rolled her eyes, she expected that in some kind of way. but she definitely wouldn't leave it just like that, she wasn't scared of him in any way even when he thought she was.

just because she was a girl doesn't mean he was better than her. she followed him into the kitchen.

"why you here i though i made it clea-"

"you know i don't really care"

mark turned around. surprised she actually spoke up and wasn't scared like every other girl would be. he rolled his eyes. they all wanted one thing. oh boy was he wrong about her.

"you know dipshit i honestly don't fucking care that you are the ace or some shit. we will work together soon so get your fucking shit together"

that was the first time someone talked like that to him. he was used to being feared by everyone, and that especially a girl talked back to him made him furious.

"who are you to talk back"

"if you don't know my name by now you should do some research, geez who said you are the best when you don't even know with who you will work with"

that was too much for him. he pinned y/n to the wall hovering over her. mark looked down into her eyes. his eyes full of anger.

"you have a big mouth for a girl you know that?"

"awe is the big boy mad"

haewon smirked at him. it was fun to tease the boy and she wanted to make clear that she wasn't weak just because she was a girl.

"well get used to it i won't be the type of girl who will run into the boys arms because she is scared"

"that's what they say before they saw me in action"

mark winked at her while she rolled her eyes in response.

"who has the big mouth now. and just to clear one thing up, i don't find you attractive honey, you're not my type keep dreaming"

that were her last words before she ducked under his arms freeing herself from his grip walking back into the living room to the rest of the members. mark was stunned. he was used to girls being sassy at first, but none of them ever talked to him like haewon did.
