the movie night was pretty peaceful

the movie night was pretty peaceful. both of them just watched movies the rest of the day. haewon brought some snacks and they both talked the whole time about everything and anything. to their surprise, they were nearly identical. everything from life, to different opinions on different aspects.

they didn't do any skin-ship or cute gestures, but instead were just sitting close to each other. they may let their walls down, but this was a step they couldn't take yet. before they realized, they fell asleep next to each other.

the next day it was mark who woke up first again. this time, without being cuddled with haewon, she was sleeping, face towards the wall. mark didn't have the courage to hug her again. yes, they already slept like that, but last time he could cover it up as something he did in his sleep. he didn't want to do it again, too scared that haewon would reject it this time. they just became so close, he didn't want to ruin it already.

he instead, decided to get up already, feeling the need of some coffee. since he had been over for a few times already for whatever reason, he knew where he needed to go. in the kitchen, he made himself some coffee, figuring no one would care if he did. while he was drinking his coffee, someone entered the kitchen.

"oh didn't know you were here?"

"good morning to you too chan"

"morning, why are you here?"

"very welcoming of you"

"come on stop trying to change the topic"

"aright alright geez, i was with haewon"

"oh are you finally a thing?"

"no, why"

"oh because it usually doesn't happen that you two have sleepovers, let alone just the two of you"

at this point didn't even know how to talk himself out of the situation. whatever he would say everything would lead back to chan saying they were a thing. so he just decided to be honest.

"alright i wanted to check up on her whether she is alright, but we aren't a thing yet"

"ooohhh so we are already on a yet huh"

chan winked. mark's ears got red, but he just looked at his coffee mug which was more than enough for chan.

"alright i won't bother you any further, enjoy your coffee"

mark nodded and chan left the room. as soon as he left mark started to think about the current situation he was in. him and haewon were pretty close now, but were they ready for a relationship. did she even want a relationship? he didn't know nor could he ask. asking someone else wasn't a solution, his pride was too big to admit his feelings to someone else yet.

while he was lost in his thoughts another person came in, haewon. she was still sleepy, rubbing her eyes to get her awake. when seeing mark, she froze. she recalled last night, realizing it wasn't actually a dream, but mark was really there, everything that happened was real.

not actually knowing how to start a conversation with him, she decided to make herself a coffee as well. while she was pouring her coffee, mark noticed her. deciding that he was a coward, he got up, hugging haewon from behind snuggling his head into her neck. she froze in her tracks, not expecting this.
nevertheless she hadn't had anything against this gesture, appreciating that he felt comfortable enough to do that.

"still tired"

"a bit"

he yawned. haewon finshed up her coffee before turning around in his arms, coffee mug in her hands.

"what's wrong?"

even though mark didn't say anything, haewon did feel the tension in his body. he masked it pretty well, haewon just sensed when something wasn't right with him.

"a lot of things on my mind, don't worry about it it's nothing serious alright?"

haewon nodded, she didn't want to pressure him into telling her something he actually didn't want to. mark sighed. he didn't want to ask her about her feelings yet , believing it was too early even though they actually knew each other for pretty long already. let's just say both were just cowards to admit their feelings completely.

"alright uh i will need to head to the headquarters, have some office stuff to do"

"alright, have some errands to run today as well"

"oh care to tell?"

"only if you wanna help me with my school assignments"

"oh hell no haewon. listen, i will be done in a few hours, want some take out tonight with the boys?"

"which boys"

"only dream, believe that will be calmer than having all of them in one room"

mark rolled his eyes. nct was really a hand full and chaotic. but they were a family, and their bond was strong, no one would be left behind.

"alright bet"

"good see you in a few hours at our house"

"alright see ya"

mark was hesitant, but decided to make a move then. he grabbed haewon by her waist, pulling her closer to him. he then proceed to press his lips on her forehead, letting them stay there for a few seconds before pulling away.

"see you tonight then"

mark let go of her and left the room, smirking to himself knowing haewon's cheeks were red. haewon was shocked, frozen in her position. it's not like she didn't like it, the opposite. the moment he put his lips on her forehead made her stomach flutter.

what did just happen? oh mark i'm falling too hard.
