renjun and haewon arrived in their art class sitting down next to each other, talking about what they love to draw the most and how calming art can be.the teacher came in, haewon introduced herself once again. afterwards the teacher gave them a project they should work on the next couple weeks. getting their art supplies they both thought about what they wanted to paint.
haewon decided for painting a sunflower field in which a girl should stand with her back to the viewer since sunflowers were her favorite flower with a sunset behind it. starting to sketch on her canvas renjun started talking to her.
"haechan is your brother right?"
haewon stopped in her tracks, leaning back in her seat she looked at renjun. surprised at that question she eyed him before finally responding.
"yeah, i guess he is, what makes you ask that"
"well i didn't see you talk to him yet and as far as i know you two haven't seen each other for years didn't you?"
"so? you don't know the full story behind all of it. just leave it"
"woah suddenly so cold again"
"your fault"
"alright sorry. what i was trying to say that everything happened was in the past he maybe couldn't influence. you two were young. all i say is try to give him a chance, he is still your brother"
with that renjun turned his attention back to his painting leaving y/n alone with her thoughts. he was right at some point, but haewon simply couldn't do it right now. the word family still was a big wound in her heart, it was still healing.
she was taught different than just to give people a second chance. be nice? not in her life. she knew deep down that she wanted to give him a chance, to get her brother back she once had, but that was too much to ask for.
their lives were way too different. even if he would join nct, he would never experience such hard punishments. she didn't want haechan to get involved into the family drama, she wanted to protect him.
wait, protect? looks like she still loved her brother deep down. but there wasn't a single chance that they could be siblings again, is it?
haewon continued on her sketch on her canvas completely silent. renjun noticed that she was acting completely different. she wasn't the cold girl she normally is, instead she looked like a lost puppy, completely lost in her thoughts.
shoulders slumped, not full of confidence anymore. she looks cute being so concentrated. he knew he pushed some buttons and make her think about the past events, but that was exactly what he wanted.
haewon needed to break her walls down, even just a little. he maybe didn't really know her yet, but he already felt a connection between them, he understood her and her struggles. he went through something difficult with his family too.
never really talked about it but being friends with the dreamies helped him to get through his hard time and that was exactly what he wanted haewon to do. to make up with her brother, he knew how broken she was on the inside.
if you once were a broken person yourself, you see it in other people. the way she tried to push people away was a way to protect herself, renjun knew that way too well. stealing a glance he saw her biting on her lip, being concentrated on her sketch.
he smiled softly turning back on his painting. he wanted to get closer to her. something about her made him want to befriend her. he didn't really know why, it was just a feeling in his stomach.
class ended. renjun and haewon made their way to their lockers. they started talking again after haewon recovered from her thoughts and they got along again. haewon wasn't mad at renjun, not at all, she just didn't know how to deal with her emotions, not being used to it.
stopping at haewon's locker, she started putting her things away. the rest of the group joined them.
"we come over at yours tonight again, right?"
haewon looked at jaemin. he looked at her with a hint of hope in his eyes. looking around everyone was anticipated waiting for her reply. she knew the group actually wanted to go out again as friends. actually she needed jaemin and jeno tonight, since a business partner she wasn't really found of would be there, but she didn't have the heart to say no to them.
she actually didn't tell them yet about the guest. knowing they would get overprotective since the man tend to get touchy with haewon. but she couldn't really say anything about it because of mr min. the men were really found of haewon and she was needed for the business to work out.
b.w. needed some specific weapons the men had and without them being convinced about it, the wouldn't get them. but they seemed to listen tohaewon very well agreeing faster than when they just talked to her dad.
she had no other choice than just let them do what they wanted. otherwise she would ruin their business plus getting beaten up by her dad wasn't what she wanted.
"wait really?"
jeno seemed really surprised at her answer.
"yes, you guys have fun i'll be fine on my own don't worry about me"
she smiled slightly at their shocked faces.
"enjoy your play date"
haewon said winking at them teasingly before making her way out of the school. at the entrance she run into felix and seungmin who also were walking home just now. on their way home they started talking about tonight's meeting. knowing they wouldn't let her go out of their sight either.
haewon was the younger sister of all of the eight members. they cared a lot about her also being overprotective brothers. they knew her for seven years now, and they grew really close to her. they went through a lot of ups and downs together, being there for each other at their worst.
and they certainly won't let y/n be touched from some man without a member near them. if they would go too far with her they would always interfere taking her away.
tonight will definitely be interesting...
