ever since that day mark and haewon hadn't spoken to each other. haewon was scared that he would find out what happened and mark was still mad at the way she lashed out on him.

both of their prides were just too high to let everything be normal again. but one thing was still on mark's mind. why was haewon limping? she was fine like two hours before nor did she get hurt during the mission. also, was that a bandage on one of her arms?

of course he never asked anyone, it shouldn't look like he cared about her. in fact, the hated each other, right? besides haewon wasn't his type anyways. at least that's what he thought.

around two weeks later they slowly started to not avoid each other. during lunch they even were able to sit next to each other without being completely uncomfortable. the other members constantly tried to get these two to speak to each other again, everyone noticed that these two had some sort of connection.

"haewonnnn"

"what's up jaemin"

"when are you going to hang out with us again?"

"yes it's been weeks since you hung out with us"

jisung pouted. haewon smiled slightly. she knew she cut them off somehow, but this time wasn't easy for her and she couldn't physically get herself to actually go out with her friends. what they didn't know was that her body was completely covered in bruises.

through the pain still managing to study. ever since her father made a plan for a big mission he had made haewon train nonstop. studying was the only thing keeping her away from the hard work and even more pain since she would get beaten up even more if she has bad grades.

"why won't you go out with us anymore?"

"i'm studying a lot at the moment you know that jeno"

"take your time off"

"you know that i can't do that"

"exams aren't until like a month"

"better starting now y'all know how stressful my life can be"

mark just watching her from afar. something in her body language made him overthink her words. he didn't realize it up until now but he noticed the smallest things she did. from the small smiles she had on her face while being with the members to the small flinches that looked like she was in pain.

yet, mark didn't know what to do with this feeling, it was the first time experiencing such. thinking it would go away when he just would ignore her presence was the only solution he could think of, but something in him was against it. haewon never cancelled her plans with the members before, yet she did that everytime for two weeks now.

something is definitely off.

"guys we can hang out soon again alright? movie night at mine i promise"

"you will get the snacks?"

"yes i will"

"sleepover?"

"finee"

"promise?"

"yes i promise jisung"

everyone had a smile on their face. already being excited to hang out again. haewon didn't know when this "soon" would be, but she knew that she needed to sort her life out a bit first before being able to hang out with them again. too scared her dad would lash out when they would be around or actually see the bruises. until now she was able to cover but covering them at a sleepover?

she wasn't too sure about that. everyone started chatting again except for one specific person. She felt his eyes look at her but she didn't turn around. Something about him made her being careful with her words. She felt like he could see right through her, fully knowing that something was wrong.

something inside her wanted to make up to him, finally being something like friends, maybe less but tolerating each other without secretly hating the other. yet, now was not the right time to start drama, and both of them knew that. after  lunch they all parted ways to go to their classes.

to haewons luck mark happened to be the only person she had her next class with. annoyed she rolled her eyes making her way to class with mark going next to her. none of them said a word during the whole time they were going to their classroom. it felt like they were going super long even though it took them only two minutes to get there.

in front of the room mark grabbed haewons shoulder making her stop. confused she looked at him why he stopped her. mark came closer whispering into her ear.

"maybe you can hide your secret from the others but i'm watching you"

after that he let go and went into class leaving haewon in a shocked state. did he knew what was going on? or did he only say that to make me overthink what he said? how much does he know?

haewon sat down in her seat which was far away from mark. but today, she didn't ignore him, instead constantly looking over to him thinking about what he had said to her.

does he really noticed her small change of behaviour? and why did it bother him anyways, they hate each other don't they?

she didn't listen to what the teacher said, her mind constantly wandering over to the boy on the other side of the class.

what do you know mark lee?
