Jay Paris p.o.v

Jay Paris Johnson.

Learn the name, never get it wrong.

I'm a legend. No...scratch that I'm THE legend.

Born in the streets, built in the streets, and I'll die in the streets. Every nigga you'd see out here respects me. I'm from Princeton, New Jersey. There are beautiful sights there, but its a lot of hard core shit that goes on. Trust me.

I'm 16, born January 1st. I was born a leader, THE leader. Can't nobody bring me down. School was about to start and I was ready for a fresh new year. Not talking about classes and teachers, talking about seeing my niggas & owning the sophomore hall! In addition one of my goals were owning some hoes. From what I heard last year all the ladies love Jay. I can pull any chick that digs the dreads, pretty eyes, pearly whites, the swag, and attitude. And by my senior year I'll become homecoming king.

So to start off fresh on the first day if school I'll wear my new: skinny Levi's, my air force ones, & my thugave crewneck. Along with real gold jewelry. Yep, pure gold chain and diamond earrings baby!

Princeton high school here comes Jay Paris!

Oh god, oh god, oh god. I can't be late on my first day of my new school. Gosh, why didn't my stupid phone wake me up! Oh wait, its set on 8:00 not 7:00! Ugh! I hope I can make it just have to rush and take my time! How? I rush by being careful and not forgetting anything. Yeah, very. The last time I rushed I almost ruined my outfit.

7:30 am.
So I've already gotten dressed, ate breakfast, brushed my teeth & washed my face. Now all that's left is my makeup and hair & shoes. So therefore I can eat breakfast in the car. Yeah, right!

"Ma!", I shouted, "Mama!"

"What?!", she answered. "Ma, can you fix my breakfast for me please? I'll eat on the way to school!", I said as I applied my foundation. "Alright.", she said. Whew, thank goodness.

When I finished my makeup I unraveled my braided hair and started brushing my long plum burgundy hair and began to flat iron my hair. Afterwards came the finishing touches, accessories.

The white beanie matched my outfit. Which was my new: fluttery light pink mini skirt with my knee high white socks, my light pink crop tee under my baby blue sweater, and my tan walabees.

Before I left my hometown my friends threw me a goodbye party and passed out gifts. I received an anklet, a necklace with my first initial with earrings to match, and a threaded charm bracelet. I'll wear them everyday this year and throughout my entire life. It brings me happiness of all the memories & good times I've had. Those gifts remind me that I didn't completely leave all that behind because I take them everywhere I go. I smiled to myself. "Today is a new day, for new beginnings.", I said heading out the door into the car.

"Are you ready to start the first day at your new school?", my mama asked. I buckled my seat belt.

"As ready as I'll ever be.", I said. Princeton high school, here I come.
