Chapter 33

Hayes's POV

The atmosphere outside was perfect for a day at the lake and I didn't want to spend it with anyone else except Kaitlyn

"Have your swimsuit?" I asked checking my bag to make sure I had everything

"Yes it's on under my clothes, so boating today?" Kaitlyn asked twinning our hands together

"Jet ski" I corrected her "even better" she smiled at me

We walked hand in hand in my back yard to the lake and set up a nice place to sit and eat later

"I'll go get the jet ski's" I said walking off to the dock

I had to get them started and put more gas into them

Once everything was ready to go I waved Kaitlyn over

She set down her phone and jogged over to me, she was smiling as hopped on the ski

"Someone's excited" I said starting it for her

"Oh come on hayes, they don't have amazing lakes like these back in Illinois, I missed this for 6 years"

Kaitlyn winked and sped off into the middle of the lake doing sharp turns and donuts

I smirked and hopped onto my own jet ski and followed her out

The whole day we had jet ski races and did tricks on them

I tried to impress Kaitlyn by hopping up above the water but instead falling off the jet ski

Kaitlyn couldn't control her laughter and fell off too

I swam over to her and splashed her, then it became a full out splashing war against her and I

Kaitlyn cheated of course by jumping back onto her jet ski and splashing me big time by speeding off

"You won't get away!" I yelled to Kaitlyn

"Try me!" Kaitlyn said turning back to look at me then increasing the speed

I did the same and continued to chase her

After 5 minutes I finally caught up to her and splashed her so much she was soaking

We both laughed and sat out in the middle of the lake next to each other on the jet skis

"Today has been super fun hayes, got rid of all my stress" Kaitlyn said grabbing my hand

I kissed her hand and looked into her now forest green eyes

"It was my pleasure, and may I say, I love when your eyes change colors" Kaitlyn blushed and we sat there for awhile until I realized we hadn't eaten lunch and it was about 3 pm

"Hey let's drive the skis back and eat lunch" I said starting my ski

"Ok, race ya!" Kaitlyn yelled speeding off once again

I tried to beat her but her jet ski just moved faster than mine

She parked her jet ski next to the dock and she helped me tie them Back on the pole to leave them in place

"So what's in the magical lunch basket?" Kaitlyn asked sitting down on the blanket I had placed out

"Well just for you, I brought fruit snacks, a juice box, and a salami and cheese sandwich" i handed her each thing I said

Kaitlyn squealed when I handed her the spongebob fruit snack and ripped them open

"Your so cute" I said laughing
