Chapter 34

Wait till you're at the starbucks scene to listen to the music plz :)

Kaitlyn's POV

"You know your birthdays coming up right?" I asked Hayes while swinging on the hammock

Last night I decided to spend the night over at Hayes's then spend today at my house and go to the movies later

"Yea, I thought about it but I'm just not that excited about it" Hayes shrugged and swung the hammock more

"Well I'm excited, I can't keep being this cougar dating a younger man" I smirked at Hayes causing him to laugh

"Yea cause being only a month and a half older than me makes you a cougar"

"Of course, I'm just into younger people I guess" I said lifting my eye brows

"I'm into older people" Hayes said rubbing my shoulder

"We have different taste, but it works" I said kissing Hayes's cheek

Hayes's phone began to ring and when he checked the number he began to tense up

"Um I need to take this" Hayes got off the hammock and walked into my house

I leaned up confused why he couldn't just answer it out here, I sat on the hammock for a while by myself wondering whose calling him

15 minutes went by and he still wasn't out yet. I decided I should just go in to see what's going on

I got up out of the hammock and walked to the porch and before I could reach the top step Hayes came out quickly

"Oh did you want to go in?" Hayes asked pointing to the door

"No I was just wondering who was calling" I said leaning on the railing

Hayes tensed up but loosened and sat down in one of the porch chairs

"Just my mom asking me a few questions" he said showing me the most fake smile

I shrugged it off though because I would get it out of him later

"So" I said sitting in the chair next to him

I saw him tense up again by my strange actions so I put my hand on his

"Why so tense?" I asked sarcastically

Hayes chuckled and grabbed my hand "I'm not, do you want to go get Starbucks on this hot day?"

I fanned myself and thought it over "well of course, what white girl doesn't need her Starbucks"

"I don't even know" Hayes and I both stood up and twined our hands together

"We'll be back Sarah!" Sarah and Nash were in the living room watching Switched At Birth

"Have fun where ever your going" Sarah said not taking her eyes off the tv, she reallyyy likes that show

Nash actually turned around and waved goodbye to us before we exited the house

"So we have to get our Starbucks and make sure I get back home in time for our date" Hayes nodded and bent over for me to get on his back

Hayes let me ride on his back all the way to Starbucks

"Sounds fine to me, I'm paying today"

I groaned "no Hayes you always pay, let the white girl pay"

"Why should I let you pay" Hayes asked spinning us around

"Because. You always pay and never let me" I pouted

"Oh well I am." I groaned and rested my head on Hayes shoulder
