Chapter 18

Kaitlyn's POV

I figured out I like to stare at the ceiling a lot, well that's exactly what I'm doing right now. My arms sprawled out across my bed, my natural staring pose

After that really long run from the mall home killed my legs and I had to lay down. No I didn't cry or pout, I just wanted to get out of that rat invested mall. I still haven't let go of the necklace since I left

Ever since I crashed here my phone has been buzzing none stop, I know it's hayes and my notifications but I really don't feel like looking.

Can I be alone? For once not have hayes's fans call me something, I can't even go to our towns mall with out being seen.

"Hey your home early" my mom said peeking her head in the door frame, "yea"

"you ok?"

"Fine mom"

"Sure?"

"Yep."

"Ok!"

I wasn't going to tell my mom about the comments from Instagram! Thankfully she believed me and left me alone.

I was snapped out of my thought when I heard the front door all the way downstairs slam open, "SORRY MCCOY'S I'LL PAY FOR THE VASE!"

I started laughing hearing that hayes broke something from slamming the door. He came sprinting up the stairs and ran into my room to just stare at me out of breath

"That's why you don't slam things" I said in a monotone. "Ka-" he took a deep breath and finally said my name "Kaitlyn are you ok?" He said walking over to me

He laid next to me on my bed and looked up at the ceiling. "Sure" I said wanting to just dream instead of being right here

"Your not ok, I know it" he said not looking at me, "dating you has it's negatives" I said not showing emotion

Hayes took a deep breath and walked out of my room. Great now he's mad, makes life fabulous

I started to shut my eyes when hayes reentered with his hand behind his back, he had a grin on his face, he didn't show his teeth which meant he was nervous

"Well Kaitlyn McCoy, I was going to ask you this at the mall but I find this setting more appealing." He took my hand and got me off my bed, he got down on one knee (😏 I'm adding pazaz don't judge) "would you accompany me to the summer dance held at the park?"

Hayes pulled out from behind his back my moms roses from her garden and I started blushing really badly

Hayes started laughing and got up to hug me tightly, "I'll take that as a yes?" "Yes"

Hayes's POV

"Would you like to try the mall again to get a dress?" I assumed she would want a nice dress for the dance, "no, I will just order one and it will come in the next day"

"Okey" I said leaning back and forth my on heel. Kaitlyn smiled and fell back on her back pulling me with her.

"Want to take a nap?" I remembered how Kaitlyn would take naps when she was frustrated or upset when she was little

"Of course" I closed my eyes and she did the same

Sleep was taking over and images started showing up as my dreams

In one of the images kaitlyn and I were back when I was teaching her football and we had our first kiss

The next image showed us at the cardinal game and when I asked her out, everything seemed going so nicely in these images
