Hayes's POV
*5 days later*

I sat in Kaitlyn's room for 5 days straight and haven't left her side yet, only to get food or use the restroom

Her hand has been in mine and I don't want to let go of hers

I talk to her knowing she can't hear me but at least I'm talking to her

"So Kaitlyn, when you wake up I want to take you to the park so we can swing again, and I want to take you to the ice cream parlor and anywhere you want to go" I said smiling at Kaitlyn

The expression on her face made it look like she was in pain laying there. I wanted to help her but I knew I couldn't do anything but wait

The McCoys stay here too but they wait in the waiting room while I get to stay in here with Kaitlyn.

I sat there starring at Kaitlyn until I got a text from Nash

Nash-hey bro, need anything?

Hayes-no I'm good, thanks tho.

Nash-tell Kaitlyn I said hi

I smiled and put my phone away

"Hey Kaitlyn Nash says hi, you know we really want you to wake up. I have plans for us and I think you will really enjoy them"

Nothing came out of her mouth, I just imagined the things she would say, how she would act

"Also Kaitlyn when you wake up you can finally get the surgery to get rid of your headaches! That's awesome right?!"

I smiled wide but soon it started fading away

I don't know how much longer I can go on without Kaitlyn not talking to me.

I never realized how much someone could mean so much to me.

I sighed and thought about what I could talk to Kaitlyn about

I finally got an idea and rested my head on Kaitlyn's arm

"So I guess I'll recap our summer since school starts next week. And also I should say, our summer together was pretty awesome

I remember the day you showed up from Illinois and jumped into my arms on your front porch.

I remember how I pricked you with a thorn with the pink roses I got you but you didn't mind.

When we got into your house I gave you your necklace and you couldn't believe I got you it

I made a promise to you Kaitlyn that I will always be here and never leave your side.

I'm your best friend and boyfriend and I promised that as long as I'm here nothing and no one will hurt you.

I made that promise to you in so many places over the summer and I meant each one

I hope you know that this is something I can't fight to help you but I'm here, waiting for you to wake up.

Because your strong and as you said you want to be an independent women.

That brings me to when Matt tried to kiss you at your birthday party but you kept him off you,

I of course helped you but truly you fought the fight.

Also don't you want to wake up for your sister? When Nash and Sarah were having their ups and downs, You helped Sarah through it and she was strong.

Now she needs you to be strong

Kaitlyn my fans are wanting you to wake up, everyone wants you to wake up.

Remember when I was in the hospital and you told me that if anything happened to me everyone would care

But if anything happened to you, no one would care?

Well look at it now Kaitlyn, can't you see that everyone cares for you, everyone wants you to wake up.

I couldn't even last being away from you for a month when we fought a few months ago.

I won't be able to be myself if you don't wake up.

I'll break, your my best friend in the whole wide world and your the girl I want to be with forever

Kaitlyn I'll say it, I want to marry you, I want to have a family with you and live the rest of my life with you.

I know that's a lot to say and think about at our age but it's true. I have come to the conclusion that your the one I need in my life

When I told you at Starbucks that I love you on your cup, I meant it

I meant every word I said on that cup and I mean every word I say right now.

I held onto Kaitlyn's hand tightly and looked into her pale eyes. They were no longer their vibrate green but a pale green

Kaitlyn's finger nails were still painted a royal blue and her hair was still lightly curled from the funeral 5 days earlier

He makeup was kept in the same way it was when we left her house but her skin was paler than usual

I looked up at Kaitlyn and saw the K&H necklace sparkle on her neck

I closed my eyes for a moment to think

Suddenly I was cut out of my thoughts when I felt Kaitlyn move

I looked up and only saw Kaitlyn squeeze my hand then the monitor next to her went into a straight line

The beeper went off and my whole body froze. This couldn't be happening, the love of my life is not leaving me

"Kaitlyn come back to me, babe come on!" I yelled standing up and cupping her face

Her eyes were pale and looked into mine but showed no emotion

"KAITLYN!" I screamed

Tears were pouring out of my eyes and the doctors came running in trying to revive her

The beeper kept going in a straight line and it was exploding in my head

The McCoys and Nash came running in and mrs.McCoy fell to her knees crying and pleading for help

Sarah was crying into Nash's chest who was crying too

I looked back over to Kaitlyn's lifeless body and grabbed her hand.

"Kaitlyn McCoy, come back please!" I pleaded next to her

I tried to wipe the tears away from my eyes but they kept coming out

"Kaitlyn, I love you please just hang on. Hang on as much as you can" I asked

The doctors backed away from Kaitlyn's bed and shook their heads

I dropped my head and let the tears fall

I gripped my girlfriends hand one last time as she slipped out of my grasp

Kaitlyn was gone
