The Prince's Gambit

Danger

The sound of a helicopter was hovering overhead. Paramedics rushed out of the helicopter to check on Dahyun who was in Jimin's arms. The paramedics checked her vitals and carried her out on a stretcher. Only one other person was allowed in the helicopter so Jimin followed the paramedics still holding onto Dahyun's hand with tears in the eyes. The medical helicopter left to go to the nearest hospital. It was a race against time. Jimin questioned the paramedics "Do.. you know... what happened... to my Dubu?... he said barley able to get the words out. "Apparently there is rohyphol and poison mixed in her system". "Rohyphol is a drug that makes you unconscious and immobilizes you". "Mixed with a drink like alcohol can strengthen the effect". "We need to take her to the emergency room immediately but don't worry this case is not uncommon we can remove the poison before it effects other parts of her body".  Jimin put his head down still holding onto Dahyun's hand "Thank you" he said still with tears dripping down his face.

The helicopter landed on top of the helicopter pad at Seoul National University Hospital. The paramedics rushed Dahyun to the emergency room. Jimin was still beside Dahyun holding her hand. The doors opened and Jimin had to let go of her hand because he was not allowed in. He had to leave it up to the doctors to properly remove the poison from Dahyun's body. Jimin slammed his fist on the wall "Fuck please don't leave me" he cried. Jimin was waiting around for hours, even though it was a late night he couldn't sleep. He started rubbing his face hoping that it was just a nightmare and he would wake up with his sunshine by his side. Jungkook, Sana, Tzuyu, and Taehyung rushed to the emergency room. They saw Jimin who was absolutely distraught with dark circles around his eyes and his messy hair. Jungkook was the first to hug him before the rest of the four did as well. "Hyung, it's going to be alright". "Dahyun is a strong woman she will get through this" Jungkook said with some encouragement. Doctor Choi came out of the emergency room and the group of five released the hug and greeted him. "Are you her family?" Doctor Choi said. "No, I am her boyfriend and these are her friends" he said pointing to the group of four. "Ahhhh... I see". "Everything went well, she will most likely wake up tomorrow". "When she wakes up she will feel a little weak but we will give her an IV injection". "She will be discharged tomorrow" Doctor Choi said. "Thank you" Jimin said while shaking his hand. Jimin entered to room to see Dahyun sleeping peacefully. He immediately held her hand and whispered "Thank god".

Silence filled the room after a few minutes Jungkook decided to break the ice. "Chim, who did this?" "I don't know but what I do know is that someone drugged and poisoned her drink" Jimin said while clenching his fists. Tzuyu interjected "Only people on the guest list were invited and there was heavy security so no one snuck into the party which means that the person who did this is someone I know". Taehyung put his hand on Tzuyu's shoulder "At least we now that this person is after Dahyun and not Jimin and Jungkook". Sana leaned back with her head against the wall. "All of this doesn't make sense". "There was a suspicious individual who tried to ruin Jimin's press conference and then hurt Jungkook who was trying to stop them". "But now Dahyun gets poisoned at an exclusive party". "It's like the attacker has a personal vendetta against you guys". "Hmmm.... maybe your right Sana all of this has to be connected". "They all can't be isolated incidents" Jungkook said. 

After a long night of discussion the group of five was sleep deprived. Jungkook was cuddling Sana, Tzuyu and Taehyung slept on each other's shoulders and Jimin was sleeping beside the hospital bed next to Dahyun still holding her hand. The sound of doctors adjusting IV fluids woke up a tired Jimin. Jimin was still half-asleep rubbing his eyes trying to regain his hazy vision. After a few minutes Jimin noticed Dahyun's hand starting to move still holding on to his hand. Jimin's eyes widened when he saw her open her eyes. "Hey Chim" she said. Jimin lightly caressed her hair giving her kisses on her cheeks, forehead, and even lips repeatedly. "YOUR FINALLY AWAKE!" he screamed out of excitement. The loud shout woke up the group of four. "What the hell Jimin" Jungkook said while rubbing his head. " Stop making me feel single you lovebirds" Taehyung scoffed. "Don't you have Tzuyu" Sana smirked. Taehyung eyed Sana sending her signals to not blow his cover while Tzuyu blushed by her statement. Dahyun giggled "Its good to know that I have so many friends beside me". The whole group gave Dahyun a huge hug "Feel Better!"

 While paperworks were being filled out to get Dahyun discharged the group started talking and laughing amongst themselves. Jungkook tapped Jimin on the shoulder "Hyung, can I talk to you privately for a second". "Sure" Jimin replied. "Chim, what's the next move?" "It's like we are playing a game of cat and mouse". "I don't know Jungkook the police are useless they have no new leads". "We are stuck in limbo right now" Jimin said worriedly. Jungkook put his hand on Jimin's shoulder "Don't worry I will handle this". "Jungkook what do you-". "Trust me Chim I will find a way". Jungkook left Jimin and called Taehyung. "What's up Jungkook?" Jungkook looked Taehyung in the eyes. "Remember the day when we talked on the bench". "Yeah, what about it?" "I'm tired of failing to protect the people close to me... the people I love". "I want you to gather up the gang... Bangtan". Taehyung smirked and hit Jungkook in the shoulder "I know you would come around".
