Chapter 16 The Base Magic

ZACH'S POV

Lance is peacefully sleeping and this is the right time to sneak in the library. He mentioned awhile back that there is a book he used to read, why he such advance in using magic and sinabi niya sa akin where he kept it.

I wear my cloak and immediately get out from our room, the hallway is quite and the dim lights are enough for me to see my way to the library.

After sometime of looking the 5th shelf, I manage to find the book na sinasabi neto.

"The Base Magic"

I look for a safe place kung saan walang makakikita sa akin. I dusted off the book at maingat na inilapag sa table. From the cover, the author's name was carved under the title, and I was surprised to see the author. It was her, the Late Queen Kyona Daveer. Interesting.

The first phrase was written in the first page. But I was about the turn the next page nang biglang may naramdaman akong presensya sa loob ng room.

"I'm not alone here" bulong ko

My first action was to hide the book and immediately get out from the hell of this situation.

I managed to calm myself somehow, and out of curiosity I look for the person, fortunately, I 'm good enough to locate you.

I turn my flashlight on and I quietly took a step towards the person's location.
With a defensive stance, I prepare myself.

I flash the light directly to the face of the person and I was schocked.

It's Ariel.

I sighed in relief, because of that. Ang kabang naramdaman ko ay biglang nawala.

Halos matawa ako sa mukha nito dahil bakas sa kanyang itsura ang sobrang takot at kaba.

She opened her eyes and shocked was flustered in her face, she used immediately her hands to block off the light. And nagawa ko namang i off ang flashlight.

"Ariel, what are you doing here?" curious na tanong ko

"Zach, you scared the hell out of me!" bulong nito

"You scared me too, sorry I didn't mean it"

"What A relief seeing you"

"Ano palang ginagawa mo dito?" paguulit ko

"I'll try to find sana a good book to read on, kasi tomorrow we will learn the base magic right?"

"Parehas pala tayo, and the good news is that I find what we're looking for"

"Really?" excited na nagpapacute nito

"Yeah, but I think it is a good idea na ipagpaliban muna natin, you know baka may iba nang makakita sa atin" bulong ko

"I guess, you're right" sagot nito.

Lumabas kami sa library nang hindi naguusap upang hindi maka gawa ng ingay.

We parted ways.

"Good night Ariel"

"Yeah"

Sighed. Ariel is getting stone cold unlike before during our elementary days. She used to be at my side when my classmates bullied me for being a fat kid. She is my closest friend when everyone doesn't want to accompany me. If I can bring back those treatment we used to be, but I guess malabo na.
