Them
•••••••••••••••••••••••••I run and run, but it's still behind me. I can feel its presence like it's toying with me. All I want is to wake up in my warm bed and realize it's all just a dream.
A horrifying dream.
But we don't always get what we want.
I have no idea where I'm running. I need to find him, the only one who can save me and my father. The one who was made for me.
She said if I run into the woods and find him, he can make things right. But I feel foolish for believing her when I know nothing about him. I don't know what he looks like, who he is, or even if he will help us. But I have no other option.
It's been a day since I started running. My body is now covered in scars, and my legs ache like never before, but I'm determined to find him and end this nightmare. I need my father's embrace, to hide or to find him.
I stumbled, feeling dizzy. My consciousness was slipping away; I could feel my strength waning. My vision blurred, and my eyes began to close involuntarily, but I forced myself to keep running. My legs trembled with exhaustion. Just as I was about to collapse, a pair of strong, warm arms enveloped me, pulling me against a solid, muscular chest, as if they had been waiting for me to fall into them.
Then, I heard the most terrifying, earth-shaking growl. It reverberated through my entire being, sending shivers down my spine. Before I lost consciousness, my eyes met a pair of intense, forest green eyes. They were filled with a mix of possessiveness and something deeper, something almost tender. As my eyes fluttered shut, the last thing I heard was a deep, husky voice murmuring in my ear, sending a jolt of electricity through me.
"Mine."
"You finally found your way to me, my little love," the voice whispered, filled with a dark, possessive tenderness that both frightened and comforted me.
