Escape The Dead

Chapter 15- Discovered Love

Gina volenteered to look for supplies for their two new friends along with Jack. While in town they met another living human, he was like a punk. The dude's name was Darin. He wore some kind of military survival outfit. They decided to have him come with them. Gina didn't really like him and same goes for Jack. Darin jumped over a stone fence on the edge of the woods.

"C'mon!" Darin said.

Gina grunted as she helped Jack over the stone fence. Darin was even more bossy than Gina. She was just a centimeter away into ditching him.

"I think we should take a break," said Gina.

"Yeah. You do look a bit tired," said Jack looking at Darin who is moving slowly and looking a bit pale.

Darin glared at them. "Fine."

They decided to stay in the woods so they took a couple steps back.

"I can take the first look out" said Gina.

Darin immediately went to sleep. He was further away from Gina and Jack. Gina took a lighter out from her pocket after that she piled a bunch of sticks she found around the woods. Gina's knees were wet because of the night that made the ground damp from the moisture.

"Hey, Gina?"

"What is it, Jack?"

"Remember when we were at the aquarium?"

"Yeah," Gina said as she kept her attention on making the fire.

"Do you also remember the part where I was dying?"

"Yes Jack, I remember," Gina was getting frustrated because the fire wouldn't light.

"What about t-the..." Jack gulp down the fear that was clogged up in his throat. "...confession?"

Gina hit the lighter one more time and the fire was form as she averted her attention to Jack. She got up and sat next to him.

"You said that you will give me an answer if I survived the amputation."

"I remember, Jack."

"All that I said was true. I really do love you, Gina."

"I'm not sure if that's a good idea though. Love... that is."

"And why not."

"Because, Jack! In movies, couples would sacrifice themselves for the one they love and I don't want you doing that for me. Don't sacrifice yourself because you love me, Jack," Gina stared deep into his eyes.

"I won't, because we're going to survive through this together. I know you're strong Gina and I know that, but I still want to be able to watch your back, so I won't sacrifice myself." Jack placed his hand on Gina's cheek.

Gina smiled and touched the hand that was on her cheek. Her eyes looked down to the shoulder that had no arm. The amputation scene flashed back in her head. Jack looked down to the place where his right arm used to be.

"I'm so sorry about your arm Jack. It was my fault. If you hadn't save me, then you wouldn't have to lost your arm." said Gina as she looked down guiltily.

"It's not your fault. Don't blame yourself. I was the one doing the action, and plus, I can't just watch the one I love get attacked by a zombie dolphin." He smiled.

"See Jack! This is what I'm talking about. Don't sacrifice yourself because you have feelings for me." Gina looked over to Darin seeing him fast asleep.

"I know, but you saved me as well. I saved your life and you saved mine. You could say it like, getting even." Jack smirked. Gina smiled at him. "Now let's get back on topic. Do you love me or not?"

"I'm not sure. I had a crush on you back in middle school but I'm not so sure about now. I might still have feelings for you but, I'm just not sure."

"It's ok. We can take things slowly." Jack leaned in.

"Um, Jack. I think our definition of slow is-" but she was cut off mid sentence by a kiss.

She relaxed and closed her eyes as her heart fluttered. She kissed back. Without realizing it Gina had her arms wrapped around his neck keeping him still and Jack had his hand on Gina's waist. Gina's eyes widen in surprise as Jack started using his tongue. Gina closed her eyes again as their tongue waltzed between their mouths. Gina couldn't think straight, her head was feeling dizzy as her heart beat in her ear. She could feel herself melting from Jack's touch. Her lungs cried for air as she pulled apart. She breathed deeply along with Jack. She could feel her face burning, her face was probably flushed with red.

"I love you, Gina." said Jack.

"By the way, this is not my definition of taking it slow."

They both laughed. Jack turned to Darin seeing him still fast asleep.

"I also love you, Jack." said Gina leaning against Jack on the side with the arm.

Jack looked down to see her asleep. He felt her soft and silky hair when he rested his head on her's, falling into a deep sleep.

I know what ur thinking but I had to. It's for Gina's sake. And plus I thought it was cute having Gina and Jack together. But until the next chapter of Escape The Undead, stay toon.

Also, sorry if this chapter was a bit short, as my apology read the joke and hav a laugh
