Escape The Dead

Chapter 29- Nightmare

Nicole was on top of the cliff in the training area. She looked around seeing the river rush down the edge as the moon shone through the clouds.

'What am I doing up here?'

"Guys? Anyone?" She called out.

Then a loud snarl was heard from behind. She turned around to see the werewolf, snarling as its eyes glow through the night.

"Oh crap." Nicole backed up but stopped as she found herself at the edge of the cliff.

She looked down seeing the water fall down into nothingness. She doesn't remember the waterfall being this high. Nicole reached for the double scythe on her back but felt nothing, the double scythe was not on her. She cursed under her breath when the werewolf charged at her causing her to fall off the cliff as she screamed. She closed her eyes waiting for the water to engulf her but she didn't feel any cold water. Nicole opened her eyes and everything was dark. Darkness everywhere. Nicole looked around only seeing darkness.

"Anyone there?" She called out.

Then everything turned bright. Nicole squinted her eyes as the bright light flashed her eyes. Then she found herself at the campsite. She looked around and found Gina taking on the zombie bear, Nicole could tell it wasn't going to end so well, then the bear sent Gina flying.

Her eyes widen as she called. "GINA!!"

Nicole was calling Gina's name but it was like she couldn't hear her. Gina got up again and charged at the zombie bear only to be stab through by the bear's claws. Nicole scream from the sight of Gina, the paw went straight through her stomach as blood dripped from the wound. Nicole felt her stomach flip inside out. The zombie bear tugged the paw out of Gina as she fell. Nicole ran over trying to catch her fall afraid of Gina dying but, what scared her most was that Gina fell right through her hands as if she was a ghost. Nicole looked at her shaken hands as she cried out. She couldn't take the sight of Gina's lifeless body on the ground stained with blood. Nicole hugged herself trying to stop the shaking as tears fell from her eyes, she closed them, when she opened them again, the scenery changed. This time it was the aquarium. She stood in the amphitheater with the big pool in the center. She shut her eyes frighten to see what's gonna happen next. Then a scream pierced through her ears. Nicole snapped her attention to Jack who was splashing in the in the pool.

"Oh god! Jack!"

Nicole ran to side of the pool reaching out her hand for Jack to grab. Jack reached his hand out to grab Nicole's, but then a gray dorsal fin cut through the water towards him. Nicole panicked trying to reach out futher. When their hands almost made contact, Jack was pulled down into the water with a yelp.

"NOOO!!" Nicole shrieked.

Her hand was still reached out as if Jack was still there to grab it. Horror and fear washed over her face seeing the crimson color spreading from the center of the pool. Tears fell from her eyes as she shook her head, not believing. She cradled herself trying to wake up from this nightmare as she grieved.

"This isn't real, this isn't real. It's only a dream," she whispered to herself.

It was only a dream, but it felt so real. This time the scenery changed, she stood there seeing Jillian and big boned Whale. Nicole knew what's gonna happen when seeing Whale pointing the gun right at Jillian. She ran over to her but if felt like she wasn't moving. She could feel her legs running but she wasn't getting any closer. Everything turned to slow motion when Whale pulled the trigger. Nicole hands was out as she jumped, trying to push Jillian out of the way taking the hit herself. But, instead she jumped through Jillian, she landed face first to the ground. When she turned around, the color drained from her face, turning pale white, as if she really was a ghost. The bullets went straight through Jillian's head. Nicole's eyes widen with fear as she saw Jillian falling. Then she heard a bang and another bullet went through Jillian's chest. Then another bang following with another and another. Nicole brought her hands to her ears and she screw her eyes shut as she kneeled down to the ground.
