Escape The Dead

Chapter 24- Gina & Jack to the Rescue

Gina was riding the motorcycle down to Barru town with Jack on the back seat with his arms wrapped around Gina's waist.

"Got any ideas where they'd be?" Jack asked.

Gina was about to say something when a gunshot rung through the air. Gina's and Jack's eyes both went wide.

"I think we're close." Gina picked up the paste as they quickly reached their destination.

Gina stopped the motorcycle when she heard voices. She made out Jillian's voice but there were more than one voice. Gina and Jack jumped off the motorcycle to the nearest building. They darted up the last set of stairs to the roof and threw open the door. Gina swung her bladed tonfas as it ripped through a pair of skulls before she and Jack sprinted over to the edge. They looked down and saw their team being held at gunpoint. Gina slung out her sniper use the scope. Peyton looked terrified, Zoie wasn't looking happy as well, Joe and Nicole had a serious angry expression and Jillian just looked haughty. If she was trying to negotiate, she wasn't doing a good job. The woman behind her was screaming. Gina could see the bits of flying spittle even over the great distance in the dark night.

"What do you see?" Jack asked since he didn't have good night vision as Gina did.

"What I'm seeing is that they need help."

Gina bit her lower lip. It would be an easy shot for her. She had a safe angle from so high up. She could take out two targets, but the second was a gamble and the third would be impossible to hit without some sort of reaction from their captors. But she had to do something. Jack didn't have a sniper so having him help was impossible. Gina shifted back over to the others. Most immediate threat first. She pointed her sniper over the man wearing a beanie who was holding Zoie. Then over to the oversized girl squeezing Jillian. She would probably be able to save both. But the first shot would determine which person would be the safest. A glimpse of the sun's ray was showing on the edge of the world but the moon was out and it was still a bit dark. Jillian was getting irritated, then a small beam of light hit her in the eyes. She squinted a bit and brought her attention to the building across. Jillian looked up see someone on the roof, make that two someones. She wasn't sure who it was though but the sun's ray had given their location away to her.

"Hey pay attention!" Whale yelled.

Bringing her attention back to Whale Jillian remembered about the muscular man standing behind Whale.

"He doesn't seem to talk much," Jillian pointed to the muscular man.

"You mean Tiny," Whale pointed. "He's more of a quiet guy."

Tiny flexed his muscles as he glared at Jillian. Gina drew back her sniper trying to think when her sensitive ears picked up some noises in the distance. Then a plan was formed.

"We're gonna jump."

"We're gonna what?!" Jack said surprised.

"Don't worry I have a plan. So when I take care of the one holding Jillian hostage, we're gonna jump. Once you land, I want you to take down the one who are holding Zoie and Peyton captive."

"I'm not convinced."

"Just trust me ok." Gina placed a kiss on his cheek.

Jack blushed a bit as Gina got into position and pointed the sniper at Brake. She took a deep breath and waited for the right timing. She pulled the trigger and the bullet flew straight through Brake's head. Jillian was shocked as well as everyone.
