Escape The Dead
Chapter 17- Back from the Dead!?
A green helicopter was flying in circles around Barru town. It's seems like it was on a search for something, the helicopter blasted a beam of light focused on the ground, the light moved around the surroundings, roads, rocks and trees. On the ground, a dark figure was moving forward from tree to tree and bush to bush. He had a dark green shirt and black sweatpants. His short curly brown mohawk and brown eyes darted side to side in the shadows and keeping an eye out. He was listening for any movements or sounds in the woods, keeping alert for any zombies. His black bandana on his forehead swayed as he rolled hiding behind a bush. He took out his radio transmitter and his hands started to fiddle with it. The radio emitted static before a muffled voiced blasted from the device.
"Hello? Tyler! Respond!"
Tyler quickly picked up. "Jeez, Johnny! Don't yell, you startled me."
"Sorry Tyler but I can't find Matt, I lost him." Johnny spoke through. "It's hard to find someone up in a helicopter you know."
"Hold on John... I think I hear something."
Tyler turned and glanced over his shoulder. His hand went to his back sliding the auto rifle up under his arm ready to shoot. The footsteps were light sounding and a boy in black with a white jacket and baggy pants that looked like it came from the military, walking towards Tyler. He had dark brown curly hair with the same bandana on his forehead and blue eyes. He also had freckles along his upper nose and cheeks.
"Matt, it's you," Tyler sighed.
"Sorry if I startled you, I believe we got contact from above?" Matt lifted the radio transmitter to his mouth. "Sorry Johnny, what was our mission?"
"I'll show you but first, where the hell were you?!" Johnny yelled. "Actually, never mind... just follow the damn light," Johnny sighed.
Matt and Tyler only shruggled, they followed the bright beam of light to the river's shore. It landed on the female zombie who was limping forward and dragging a boy in a black jacket that had only one arm. They couldn't make out who the boy was, but he wasn't a zombie.
"Got it, we see it! We'll take care of it," Matt lifted up his shotgun to shoot.
"I'll grabbed the boy." Tyler lifted his auto rifle and placed the radio in the holster on his belt.
Both Tyler and Matt were about to shoot when the radio made noises. Someone was contacting them.
"Hello!"
"Yes, John?" Tyler said.
"Do not engage the the zombie. Report from Dr. Adam, do not engage the zombie. I report again do not engage the zombie and the boy," Johnny said.
Matt and Tyler looked at each other suddenly. They gave each other a confused look.
"Is this for one of his test samples again?" Matt said annoyed, putting down his shotgun.
The radio went silent. They both looked up seeing the helicopter hovering above the zombie with the boy. Tyler and Matt looked at each other then shrugged, running towards the place. They saw Johnny at the door way. He had his blue shirt and black jacket with his black shorts. His brown hair and bangs were pretty long but not long enough to cover his hazel eyes. He wears the same bandana that Matt and Tyler has. Johnny tied a rope around his waist and jumped down. Matt and Tyler jumped on the river rocks and started to shoot down the random zombies coming from the woods on the other side of the river. When Johnny got down he tackled down the female zombie, tied her up and taped her mouth with duck tape and separated the boy from that zombie. He was able to get a closer look at the boy in the black jacket.
