"Are you sure you don't want to go out somewhere and celebrate the new year?" I asked louis as he set up blankets and cushions on the floor in our living room."We did that last year, this year I just want to be in the comfort of our home with you," he smiled, looking up at me.
"Alright, but how come were sitting on the floor?" I asked, laughing.
"Were building a den." Louis stated, almost squealing in excitement as his eyes twinkled with happiness.
"Your such a child at heart," I said, admiring him.
"I know, but you love me for it." He chuckled as he placed the duvet over the sofa and onto some cushions, creating a small, cozy den.
Once he was done building the den he crawled inside and I laughed at how cute he was.
"Come on Y/N! It's nice and cozy in here." He laughed, beckoning for me to join him.
I went inside, sitting on the comfy cushions as louis snuggled up into my side.
I looked up and noticed louis had left the opening open so we could watch the TV when the countdown starts.
*
"The countdown is going to start soon!" Louis called as I walked back from the bathroom."Calm down Lou, I'm here." I laughed as he pulled me back inside the den.
I squealed as he pinned me down, straddling me, one hand holding both of my hands above my head and his other hand by my waist, threatening to tickle my sides.
"Louis don't tickle me, please, the countdowns about to start." I begged, laughing as Louis pretended to think.
"Hmm, don't tickle you? Why shouldn't I?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at me playfully.
"Because you love me," I said, giggling.
I love how Louis is, the way he can go from serious to playful in a matter of seconds. He was unpredictable and it made our relationship all the more exciting.
I tried to pull my hands away from his, but he was quicker than me as he took his hand away from my waist only to pin my hands down with each of his, making it harder for me to take my hands out of his grip.
"Louis!"
"Get ready to be tickled." He teased and I squealed waiting for him to tickle me, although it didn't happen.
I looked up only to see him hovering above me with a visible smirk plastered on his face. He leaned down so our lips were lightly touching as he laughed,
"Your so easy to wind up," he muttered, capturing my lips with his own, catching me slightly off guard.
I kissed back as I felt the popular butterflies that were in my stomach once again, which still happened every time we kissed, even after two years of being together.
"Shouldn't we be saving that for when it's officially new year?" I asked and he laughed.
"It's going to be amazing to spend another year with you." He smiled seriously and I nodded.
"Same with you Louis, you cheeseball." I laughed and he scoffed.
"Okay, I am a cheeseball, but only for my baby." He grinned.
"Now we head to the countdown for the new year." The television presenter announced. Louis quickly got off of me and we sat up straight, watching the TV as the countdown begun.
"10, 9, 8," the countdown begun as me and Louis counted down too.
"7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, happy new year!" Everyone cheered as Louis kissed me.
"Happy new year," he mumbled against my lips as he smiled.
"Happy new year." I smiled back.
